  1. What are some small, nit-picky things you want done right with the Bronco?

I would be very surprised if a car equipped with a starter built to operate constantly doesn't cost more than a car with a traditional starter. And the cost of the car will also be higher because it took a lot of engineering time to develop the feature. Agree that cold start is harder on an...
  2. What are some small, nit-picky things you want done right with the Bronco?

I have been thinking about another GT350. Luckily no auto start/stop on that. My 2018 Fiesta ST doesn't have it either. Or I can stick with my old 'vette. I love cars and I'm obsessed with them, but I don't necessarily have to ever buy another new car. My wife says I'm turning into a...
  3. What are some small, nit-picky things you want done right with the Bronco?

Auto stop start is a deal breaker for me. I'm not buying a vehicle with that feature. Startup is when the most wear occurs and when the engine pollutes the most. And I just don't like it.
  4. Dream World, if it were up to you what exactly would the new Bronco be?

Love your list! I would prioritize good looks, a V8 and simplicity (at least available simplicity). Solid front axle is not important to me either way.
  5. Ford Mach E prototype spotted for the first time

Ugghh! That sounds terrible! 1/2 hour charging? I hate waiting 2-5 minutes to fill with gas! And don't get me started on how long batteries last. Especially if they are regularly run in -20F temperatures sitting outside all day and then needing to heat, defrost, run wipers, headlights, rear...
  6. 3rd/5th Door

I voted for tailgate down with retractable window in the tailgate. I think if the top is removable I'd much rather have the window in the tailgate. That way the top isn't quite as heavy or fragile. I wouldn't mind a sideways opening tailgate with a retractable window and a tire mount on it...
  7. Full-Size or Mid-size for the New Bronco?

I'm pretty sure the Escape has more ground clearance than an Explorer. My wife wanted ground clearance the last time she bought and she decided the Explorer is more "car like" than the Escape. I would think the AWD Escape is more like a 6 on your scale than a 3. Sure Escape isn't desirable or...
  8. Full-Size or Mid-size for the New Bronco?

I voted mid-sized because there was no option for it to be smaller. I think the mid-(Ranger)-sized will be pretty close in size to the 90s full size Broncos. Pleeeenty big. Not interested in the baby Bronco styling I've seen, but at least the shape of what they are showing for the Bronco...
  9. Full-size Bronco not happening-Ford Authority

Very glad to hear the new Bronco won't be full sized. Similar to the Ranger is plenty big enough. I think the early Bronco and Bronco II were the perfect size.
  10. Ford Reconfirms Hybrid Bronco After Axing Passenger Car Lineup

On electric cars I don't worry so much about diagnosing them. Usually you can find troubleshooting guides and following them isn't too bad. I do agree with you that electric issues can be intermittent - which is a real pain. What I DO worry about is working on something when full power is...
  11. Diesel Option For The Bronco?

No, I don't want a diesel. I by far prefer a gas engine. I prefer non-turbocharged as well. And V8 if possible. Also, as many cubic inches as possible.
  12. 7.3L for the Bronco?!!

If Ford made a Godzilla Bronco - I would have to own one.
  13. Would you be happy with these 2 engine choices at Launch?

    Well said!! 100% agree.
  14. next week - NAIAS.....

It really sucks that they are still so far away that they can't even tease it yet. I realize they had quite a few other things to reveal at NAIAS, but I had really hoped for something new.
  15. Would you be happy with these 2 engine choices at Launch?

Good comeback and you are right that if you have really, really low torque you will need higher rpms to deliver the power. Although I'm not too worried about Ford putting a 10,000 rpm single cylinder engine in the Bronco. I really hope they put a V8 in it, but it would be a bit of a surprise...
  16. Would you be happy with these 2 engine choices at Launch?

Torque at the wheels is important, but that can be had with gearing. Engine torque is meaningless.
  17. Would you be happy with these 2 engine choices at Launch?

I'm sure either of those engines is fine, but no, I wouldn't be "happy" with them. I would be happy if the 5.0 was an option, though. I really wouldn't even care about the displacement so much as just wanting a V8 option in the Bronco.
  18. Would any of you buy a hybrid Bronco?

I actively hate hybrids and small engines. If Ford puts a V8 in the Bronco I will really be interested. If my only choice is a hybrid I would not buy one. A 4 or 6 with a turbo I am not really interested in. Then the styling and or features would have to be awesome for me to want one. And...
  19. New Ford Bronco Won’t Arrive Until 2020, After The Next-Gen F-Series Super Duty

I think you are right about it being the baby. The shape under the tarp looks very minivan-ish to me.
  20. New Ford Bronco Won’t Arrive Until 2020, After The Next-Gen F-Series Super Duty

Hopefully that's the new Exploder under the tarp and not the Bronco.
