  1. Ford Power-Up Software Update 1.7.1 - Contents

Make sure your Bronco has WiFi enabled in Settings for software updates, and is attached to your home WiFi router. Set a regular update day/time window. Make sure to park close to the WiFi router on those days. This will make updates happen much faster. Waiting for updates by cellular link...
  2. I am torn. Bronco vs. Daily Driving a Guzzler

My 2-door Big Bend 2.3 averages better than 21 mpg combined. In all-highway driving it will do just over 25 mpg and go 400 miles on the tank. Not too bad for my tastes.
  3. Dealer refuses to provide purchase agreement

Even after receiving my Bronco at MSRP with just handwritten notes on a build sheet and a handshake, NO WAY would I ever do that again. Not worth the hassle - for either side. Signed purchase agreement from now on.
  4. Cell Phone Mount

I bought the Tackform dash mount with motorized charger head, and added a dedicated power supply near the passenger compartment fuse panel. Ran a 3-foot USB cable across the front of the dash to connect the power supply and charger, for a clean installation. It made for an easy Saturday...
  5. Remote Start - Manual Trans using FORScan

Interesting - those frequencies aren't close, and the more immediate question is if the radio inside the Bronco can handle both. Do you have confirmation that the frequencies are software-defined instead of requiring a radio module swap?
  6. Floor heat non-existent?

But think of all the technical info you'll have once it shows up!
  7. Remote Start - Manual Trans using FORScan

That's an interesting position - and like zombie said, very little technical hurdle to implement. Care to speculate then why Ford would completely ignore remote start on manual transmissions?
  8. Remote Start - Manual Trans using FORScan

The technical change isn’t the issue or the challenge. When a neutral switch goes bad on a bike, or on a car with ASS, there’s a human on top of a brake lever/pedal to react to a mechanical failure mode. Not so much with remote start.
  9. Remote Start - Manual Trans using FORScan

Handy for sure, but I always crank a bike with the clutch pulled in. Found out that was a good habit the hard way.
  10. Remote Start - Manual Trans using FORScan

Car manufacturers for decades have refused to install remote start on manual trans cars. None wants the liability of accidentally starting the car in gear.
  11. Bronco Raptor Cluster Swap

I'm disappointed that Ford created such an ineffective cluster arrangement for the "standard" models such that a normal instrument layout would come across as "deluxe." Really bad design philosophy on their part. With that said, I expect aftermarket fixes to be more cost effective for the...
  12. Poll who wants the new Ford Bronco Raptor?

It does look like the instruments were designed by a gearhead - rather than the cluster on the standard models today.
  13. 2022 Broncos No Longer Have Temperature Setting Displayed on Control Knobs

Standard operating procedure for OEMs is to "economize" designs as the model years progress. Has been going on for decades.
  14. Dashboard USB Ports on Non-Lux Bronco

Thanks for the diagram! If the power port is indeed a separate part, I'm happy to install it and the dust cap on the original non-lux dash components. Would it be called out on an electrical diagram?
  15. Dashboard USB Ports on Non-Lux Bronco

It would be great if we could get the Ford part number for the factory dash power port, and order it as a service part.
  16. Manual trans 2.3L - MPG & tire size/spec ?

No, not at all. I've gotten used to a hitch-mounted tray for extra gear, but haven't used it on the Bronco at all.
  17. Manual trans 2.3L - MPG & tire size/spec ?

I just finished another long road trip. It verified the obvious, that with more weight carried (another 150 lb) plus faster average speed (+5 mph) results in worse mpg, about 5 to 6 mpg worse in highway driving. We're basically pushing a brick through the air so the drag part is significant...
  18. Goose Gear Stealth Rear Seat Delete - my review

Yeah lol. Difference is that my Bronco arrived with all the parts installed, and in the right places. The one manufacturing quality issue was identified and addressed before the vehicle was delivered. I was informed about it by the manufacturer and had the option to back out of the deal...
