  1. 🇺🇸 Bronco Veterans

USMC 2008 - 2014. Nothing on any of my current cars, and will probably keep it that way. If I do something, it will be a blacked out EGA. If I move to Maine, I'd definitely get a veteran plate. In my opinion it's the best veteran plate I've seen: https://images.app.goo.gl/3iTfCXQ7Yz1oNFa5A
  2. 05/30/2022 Build Week Group

Those dates are great. Did your truck ship by rail or convoy? I am hoping, maybe beyond the reaches of reality, that my truck gets here before Thursday so we can drive it to my sister in law's wedding this coming weekend. I'm sure with my luck it will be ready just after we leave town and I'll...
  3. Ford's failure to deliver and communicate

I agree about the gross incompetence of Ford, and I've written about it before here as well. I'm also convinced that desire to pump the stock price based on the reservations was a significant factor in the decision making and the (lack of) communication plan. The Ford apologists forget that the...
  4. 05/30/2022 Build Week Group

It's so cool seeing them come off the line, especially when we have 6g members back to back! Thank you all so much for sharing the photos. Mine should be here soon.
  5. 05/30/2022 Build Week Group

How long did your truck wait after being built before you had rail information? Mine is waiting for transport by rail to Atlanta now and I'm trying to get a sense of the timelines.
  6. 05/30/2022 Build Week Group

Very cool! I'm in Atlanta as well. My delivery estimate is 6/29 - 7/5. Hopefully mine arrives that quickly as well!
  7. Issues from 1st time engaging 4x4 with 1000 miles

Not today devil. My truck is built and I'm just waiting on delivery; I'm not going to get baited into a ban for politics. If you are wondering why corporate America does the things it does, you should check out some of the current work being written on the influence Jack Welch (of GE infamy)...
  8. 05/30/2022 Build Week Group

That reminds me, are people still getting their "birth photos" of the Bronco coming off the line? Where would I find that?
  9. 05/30/2022 Build Week Group

For all of us super late 8xxx sequence builds, I'm 8187 and I just got my tear tag in the last couple hours and my status just changed to built.
  10. Do we gotta do the jeep thing?

I completely understand that. I think someone else commented on a similar feeling coming from a MINI. On my motorcycles I would wave at anyone, sport bike or cruiser. In my BMWs I started off waving, but then the number on the road started exploding, and there was no real sense of community. I...
  11. 05/30/2022 Build Week Group

What is your sequence number? It's on your window sticker right after the blend date. I'm 6/4 blend, sequence 8187. My modules showed up late last night. I would definitely give it another day or two before starting to worry.
  12. 05/30/2022 Build Week Group

Boom! Modules popped. 6/4 blend, sequence 8187. No tear tag or "built" indications yet (even on the 6g tracker). Things are happening!
  13. My Bronco Died Today, Deep Into a Remote Trail [Fuel Pump Failure]

Outstanding work on this. Amazing that the dealership is able to provide all this. Hopefully from the detailed tests and codes we can assess the order of failure. I still can't get over a brand new fuel pump dying and taking the control module with it. I guess if a pump is going to fail due to...
  14. My Bronco Died Today, Deep Into a Remote Trail [Fuel Pump Failure]

Completely agree. That said, it is already a complex fueling system. At some point adding more complexity (even for redundancy) will decrease overall reliability. I'm pretty sure a dual fuel pump was never considered at Ford due to cost. Would be interesting to know if any of their race prepped...
  15. My Bronco Died Today, Deep Into a Remote Trail [Fuel Pump Failure]

This is really interesting. In their diagnosis, the fuel pump motor seized, which then killed the module. I would have thought that an expected failure condition would be a fuel pump motor seize, which would have required the fuel pump driver module to be designed to handle that appropriately...
  16. 05/30/2022 Build Week Group

6/4 blend, sequence number 8187. Still no modules. The Ford tracker is in a loop having me put in my order and VIN. I'm going to try to ignore it until tonight and I'll check again then.
  17. 05/30/2022 Build Week Group

When my build week was pushed it was before I had a window sticker with blend date. I found out from Ford Chat. I'm a 6/4 blend, sequence number 8187. It feels like my truck is the only thing standing in between the workers and beer-o-clock. Hopefully no loose connectors for me ;). I don't...
  18. Bronco key fob too big. Can I use another type?

There has to be a good joke in there about setting off panic at the gas station when you bend over...but I haven't had enough coffee yet to find it.
  19. 05/30/2022 Build Week Group

Hah. I wonder how much farther back you can be than I am. 6/4 blend 8187 sequence number.
  20. Super Clean GMRS Radio Install!

You aren't going to notice the impact of anything being talked about here. Also, soft-switches don't necessarily have to draw power. Depending on the circuit design they are going to drop a relay or mosfet to ground which will then start the primary power flow for the circuit. I imagine that...
