I'm doing a long term experiment. I'm only putting premium in my 21 Bronco (Basesquatch on 35's) and only putting regular in my 21 Explorer. Both vehicles have the same powertrain. We'll see down the road if one or the other makes any discernable difference to the vehicles longevity. I don't...
I couldn't get them to fit, and they just seemed like more hassle then they are worth. I would suggest you use polyfill behind the 4" speakers instead. Probably wouldn't work behind the kick panel speakers, but maybe you could try some dyna mat.
I just had mine done a few weeks ago. All four doors costed me $200.
I guess I'm not sure if the quote they gave you includes tinting the windows on your hard top clamshell. If not, it sounds too steep for just two doors.
It's funny, my wife was totally cool with me placing the order for the Bronco, but the whole process got her thinking about a new vehicle as well. Long story short, I wound up buying her a new Explorer back in September, and I got my Bronco in December. I guess what I'm saying is, maybe that...
I wound up buying a set of trim removal tools off Amazon and I'm glad I did. There are a few panels that have to be removed to get to those speakers and I did not break any clips. It would have been a nightmare if I didn't have the trim removal tools. With the tools it wasn't that bad. The...
I installed those same kickers in the dash, and also put 300hz bass blockers on them. Big difference in sound over stock. I was on the fence about replacing the rear pods, so it's good to know that you've noticed a big improvement with those. I will probably buy another pair of those 4"...
I meant in terms of the looks, both inside and out, I just don't like. It just looks like they were trying too hard. I get that it has extreme off-road capabilities, hence why I really wanted to like it.
I wanted to like the Raptor, I really did. But... I just don't. Feels like they were just trying too hard to make it stand out.
I do like the code orange color though.
If only you had one of those elastic blue body suits and had someone take a picture of you in the driver seat. Opportunity wasted.
Joking aside, even though it is an intense amount of blue, it's still pretty cool.
I agree, the resolution sucks on the Bronco backup camera, although it may vary based on trim level. My wife has an Explorer XLT (also 2021) and the resolution on that camera is much clearer.
I'm trying to visualize the installation for a powered sub which I will locate underneath the front seat. I've seen threads on the forum about tapping into the kick panel speakers to provide signal to the powered sub. My question is, do I have to tap into them near the actual speaker...
Ferman Ford in Clearwater, FL. I didn't even get anything in writing. It was a walk in order and I handed my build to the sales guy and we agreed that I would pay MSRP, no additional markup. I was there probably a grand total of 5 minutes. I got the DORA the next day and took delivery of my...
It definitely sounds like you know what you are talking about but my real world installation and observation says differently. I installed 4" kicker DS speakers in the dash without bass blockers and realized the sound would get distorted because they could not handle bass. I was forced to turn...
Huge improvement in terms of clarity and sound output. The mids and highs sound so much better than the factory paper cone speakers. Just make sure to order some 300hz bass blockers because these small speakers cannot handle bass. The boom mats were a fail since the foam was much thicker than...
Nice setup, I bet it sounds fantastic. For what it's worth, I've read that the boom matts need to have a vent hole cut into the side of them, otherwise the area behind the speaker is sealed air tight and this fights the movement of the speaker cone, resulting in poor sound. It sounds like the...
Which JBL speakers did you go with for the 6.5"? I'm thinking about getting the GTO629's but I wasn't sure if they would fit in the kick panel space provided.
I bought and installed some 4" kicker DS speakers, and they sound great in the mid and high range, but they get overwhelmed in the low range, especially at higher volumes. I just ordered some 300hz bass blockers which should come in later this week. I'm also going to install boom mats since I...
