Thank you. Makes sense! I was thinking the OEM rack could allow for as many crossbars as you wanted, but went and looked again and see the pre-drilled holes for the one extra. Thanks again.
I am considering buying an additional one or two of these crossbars. My question is, do you happen to know if these help with the weight limit while driving (dynamic) of 110 pounds, and the static rating of 450? I keep finding conflicting information.

Thank you! This was helpful for sure and gives me something to think about. I suppose right now it's a "don't fix it, if it's not broken" mentality until I find a reason for an upgrade. Right now, I am just thinking of a rooftop tent and maybe a few extra small, light items.
I have been trying to research if I "need" to replace my OEM roof rack. I would like to get into overlanding, and for the life of me (outside of the great looks of some of the aftermarket roof racks), I can't seem to find if it really needs replacing. I was able to locate near-factory-looking...
That's really nice. May I ask why you weren't looking for metal? I have been looking at all types of metal molle panels, and would love to get your take on the reason to not have metal. Is it just so you don't have rattling in the back?
Not sure if you are still looking as it's been several months but if not:
