Short of a proper engineering analysis of the engine's capacities and design ranges, and empirical data measured over time to validate those analysis, anecdotes may be useful:
- No substitute for Cubic Inches (actually there is, in the form of engine management, tuning, and forced airflow, ie...
Makes sense but sounds like a version of "your mileage may vary"; in other words, wouldn't you say the issues you raise would be dependent upon factors like fuel octane level, maps used, and driving conditions? Like weekend track days, mainstreet drag racing, or tearing through the wild with...
Great to hear its working out for you, on a 2.3L or 2.7? What they are saying about a 1 step colder plug is kind of a "best practice" to mitigate risk of the ignition being too hot given the extra boost conditions encountered. Seems like its a de-risk safety measure. Probably worth a call...
Great review; I talked with the guys at Lethal, very knowledgeable and helpful. From your research, curious, did you look at Panda and if so what swayed you to the JB4? It seems they both take the same plug and play approach, pre-built maps, CANBus interfaces, Bluetooth App, etc. Looking at...
Here's what I did:
- Called Stevens Auto Cetner service dept, said they have done several, used the Ford 4 pin accessory kit, parts $475, labor $120, total $595.
- Talked to TrickTrucks, said they've done a few also, quoted me parts and labor for $250.
Your question is a good one, I'd suggest...
Very helpful...made me realize I should be talking to the parts / service desk on the tow issue. 5 pin is fine for my needs. Good point on the wait, puts it in perspective!
For what its worth… talking to my dealer today; says it does seem that production is ramping up, says he has seen more orders pulled for production over Jan / Feb / March than he saw in total for their dealership last year (a good indicator?). He also said he’s seeing 2D orders getting pulled...
Yesterday my order was for a 2D BL, 2.7, Sas, Lux. Thanks to https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/members/northshorebronco.4888/ post and excellent video on his awesome 2D BL 2.3 Man, I made the switch. Here was my rationale, call me crazy but hey, this many days in and countless to go, still plenty...
Conspiracy Theory......pull the Base from the Configure page, thus making it only available behind the scenes to dealers so they can get quantities, set their prices, and bypass the whole custom order / reservation system. So, dealers order mass quantities, Ford spits them out like chicklets...
On the photoshops….so are you thinking 37s? I’m on the fence (sas BL 2d someday)…. Engineered for 35s but hey why not? Anyway great looking project so far, well done, congrats!
Great info here. From everything I have read, I'm leaning toward the RPG Collars, or the Zone 3 Sasquatch lift. Pretty sure I read somewhere that the Zone 3" kit includes both perch collars and top spacers, plus the UCA. Seems like the best way to go, if true, splits the work between collar...
The message here to all of us is if you have an order in, if its not in writing, get it in writing. As others have noted, paper is near worthless if you can't trust the dealer, but the vast majority of dealers (let's assume) are professionals, fair, and won't have any problem with a written...
OK....I get it....yes, I was flogging a dead horse; yes, complaining about an option on a truck I didn't order, and OK, the wrinkle is a trade vs the otherwise useful functionality of the top overall...makes sense.
Compelled to write this for some reason, knowing I'll get blasted by the many otherwise happy 4D Soft top owners....or maybe because this topic is already covered in another thread which I didn't see....anyway, is anyone else bothered by the Ford 4D soft top design and quality, specifically, the...
And another thing.... by the way, great to see the "dealer list of shame" posted, that will be very helpful! But here's the "other thing"...it seems interesting that some dealerships, like Stephens for example and a few others in the mid Atlantic area show zero stock Broncos on hand for sale...
I disagree with you….I say they DID lie to him… assuming a reasonable definition of “lie” includes willfully hiding intent. The ONLY WAY they have that unit to sell is because HE reserved it and for a price assumed to be MSRP….that is a completely reasonable assumption on his part. Had the...
