Were either of you cited? I had a similar experience many eons ago when I worked for O'Reilly Auto Parts. Since I was crossing traffic it was determined I was at fault, I think maybe failure to yield. O'Reilly terminated me the next day as company policy. I learned to never do that ever again...
When I turned wrenches in another life at a Jeep dealership, we got paid for every New Vehicle Inspection, so the dealer ought to be performing a full inspection prior to delivery, to include any minor paint chip repair, etc.
The last two vehicles I've purchased have been using the Costco program. I was able to negotiate a pretty good price and then got a $700 rebate each time since I'm an Executive member.
More likely 11/30 will be the last date for MY21 to allow for retooling changeover. Ford will need to restock the paint booth with the new colors, set up the supply lines for the new hardtop and other options, etc.
