I love manual shift but the fact of the matter is an auto is far better especially on steep hills and other off road situations when its imperative traction be maintained without slipping.

I called Ford and talked to them for maybe 15 minutes while the guy tried to find out about the validity of what the dealers are saying. He came back and said, no info has been releasesed yet but that dealers have access to channels not available to anyone else. So, it may or not be BS, we will...

I am aware of that. That means your posted numbers do not represent the Bronco just the stand alone engine system and you should hjave noted that at the beginning of this thread.

I hope your right. I don't think they will make any changes to speak of as Ford's methods in the recent years are to dump the line and say they will come out with a replacement in the future. i'm seroiusly thinking of looking at a Jeep again.

For an off road vehicle shouldn't the runs be made in 4 wheel drive? This run simply reflects HP with a single axle.

Not ricket science here but young people out looking for the first car usually get a cheaper one till they get up to speed. That first car gets them used to that manufacturers ways of doing things often leading to an attraction to other vehicles of the same manufacturer. Thats what has done...
