  1. Coilovers - changing springs to effect ride height.

Interesting I had not seen or heard of those before, but they are pretty pricy compared to some of the other quality options with more data and pedigree. What made you go with those? 400/250 is also a crazy front rear split based on @87-Z28 roll stiffness calcs. At 400 on the front I would...
  2. Coilovers - changing springs to effect ride height.

Still very happy with my 500/200 combo. Rides better than the rates it comes with in my opinion. Have only been street driving, but hope to get a trip in soon to test them out. If I did it again, I may even consider one step softer( to be able to run more preload and maintain this height...
  3. Is rubbing, trimming needed for 38x13.5x17, -12 offset? With 1.5 lift front and back

That brings your outside tire edge to edge distance to ~91 inches. Thats wildly wide in my opinion. Fitting 38s on a more appropriate offset wheel should be no issue.
  4. Rival: 2029 Xterra News & Previews

I have an Xterra along side my Bronco. The Xterra is my daily with 216k trouble free miles. Im obviously a 2010 era Nissan guy as much as I am a Ford guy so this has my interest. The EV argument is far to political for my taste, but my hope is that the technologies continue to improve...
  5. Chipped windshield

I have repeated this nearly every time people talk about windshields, but you just have to get familiar with getting chips filled as soon as they happen. I have a guy next to my work that does chip filling and I haven't let a single chip go unfilled for more than a day. I have had 7+ chips...
  6. Bronco With Ford 9" Diff Front & Rear, Hydraulic Steering Rack, Rear Cantilever System

The Front looks pretty sweet and I am interested in the steering ram assist. The rear geometry is comically bad imo. It appears that they are smart enough to probably have good motion kinematics, but the implementation is just bad. Clearing the gastank with that lower mounted and bend...
  7. Sierra Bronco 2.0 build. Or…1.5? 🤔

The motion ratios and angles on that pushrod look quite horrible though. yikes. I have designed and raced cantilever suspensions before, and that would have me concerned. The lower arms under the diff is also a choice.
  8. Sierra Bronco 2.0 build. Or…1.5? 🤔

Neither of these are steers. Are you putting D60s under all of your broncos? I cant even keep track. And did I miss the three link change?
  9. Nail in tire in terrible spot - patch, replace one, or all?

Even if you cannot plug it, replacing just that one is completely fine. 1 to 2 32" difference is a problem for some true awd cars, particularly subarus. It is not a concern in the bronco. You should have no reservations running tires with a 2-3/32" difference.
  10. RESOLVED - My 2022 OBX Non-Sas Bronco Suspension has been creaking like crazy... it's embarrassing

Going through and torqueing everything to spec would be step one. If you had an alignment done or any work atall to the front end then my first guess would be the front lower control arms not being tight. Those things are nearly impossible to tighten without a pit or a lift.
  11. 1 inch Leveling kit, Broncbuster Perch Collars vs Zone Offroad kit?

Yup, I agree with Z^. For stock shocks the Zone kit is arguable the best option for a mild front lift. It keeps the axle geo in safe ranges, shifts your bump stops down for larger tires, maintains stock travel. The perch collars also dont change the spring rate, they just change the preload, so...
  12. World's highest HP 3.0L Bronco Raptor Tuned! 658HP!

I agree with @swamp2 here. The power thing is awesome from an outsider perspective, but really dialing in the shifting and getting the downshifting smoothed out completely from the root cause area is what would push me to get a tune. Im used to slow SUVs, I have a sports car to go fast...
  13. Ford OEM Winch Kit Discontinued

Just tossing it out there that the hammerbuilt hidden winch is a good option. Not sure if you had seen that one, but it eliminates the need for reinforcements or anything haning off the front.
  14. Spontaneous windshield crack — anyone else?

You ever ask a TJ owner how many windshields they go through in a snowy state?? It all has to do with the impact angle of a rock. Steeper glass drastically increases the impact force. Gets into some pretty basic geometry, but even a slightly steeper windshield has a hugly higher impact...
  15. Coilovers - changing springs to effect ride height.

I completely agree that wheel center to fender is a better method, but in practice it is quite challenging to get the estimated center of the center cap at any accuracy higher than 1/4" . I wanted a more easily repeatable measurement specifically to my bronco, which is floor to fender. Others...
  16. Coilovers - changing springs to effect ride height.

All of the heights I have listed are for a 4 door with 2.7. If you have a 2.3 2 door I would probably go one pairing softer on springs if you want non sas height. If you want sas height, the 500/200 combo is probably a good place to start with 4wp coilovers specifically.
  17. Really, How good are 4wp/pro comp 2.5” coilovers??

They can be adjusted to less than stock height if you change springs. I swapped my springs on the 4wp coilovers to 500f and 200r and am now .5” under nonsas badlands height. I have been very pleased with the ride and stance.
  18. While in 4L and rock crawling engine revs unexpectedly with no pedal input.

It is interesting that it also does it in 2H when manually shifting down on the street. It is less pronounced obviously, but the behavior is the same and most noticable on the 3-2 shift of a 4-3-2 sequence.
  19. Moar Biggerer Tirboes: Upgrading Turbos on 2.7L Bronco - Helpful Tips

Most of that is just the efficiency gains of a more expensive machining, tolerance, and manufacturing. From my understanding the oem turbos are journal bearing with likely cast compressor and turbine. The powermax turbos are likely a tighter tolerance ball bearing center with fully machined...
