Starting at around 18:50 in the video, he talks about a "clutch-type locker" that allows the diffs to slip when needed. This is the first I've heard about that. Anyone have any more information on it? Is it part of the "Advanced 4x4" package that's standard with the BL, FE, and Wildtrack?
My thinking is that I'll have to get out of the vehicle to air down the tires at the start of any serious trail anyway, so wouldn't that be a good time to manually disconnect the swaybar? I'd still prefer the electronic disconnect, of course, but a manual disconnect doesn't seem like it would be...
Even if only 25% of the reservation holders drop out, it seems like they should be able to get the rest in by the end of MY22 unless they run into some pretty serious production problems. (Which is always possible, I suppose, but hopefully not likely.)
Try refusing some dealerships' "generous offers" of an extended warranty and you'll get to hear them tell you all about how unreliable their own cars are, how you really NEED to protect yourself because the model you're buying is such utter crap it's been known to break down as soon as it's...
I don't know if undercoating has any real benefit or not. I'm guessing it's probably a bit of a scam, but at least it's not as bad as trying to get you to pay $300 for filling the tires with nitrogen instead of plain air, which is what they initially tried on me the last time I bought a new car.
Yeah, that's good, but I'm still worried by the first part of the formula, which seems to imply that even if they're converting 100 times more reservations than the average dealer, that will only credit them with 50 times more allocations than the average dealer. Which presumably translates to...
Can anybody explain to me what "competitive registrations" means in this formula?
"Final 21MY allocation will be based on 50% converted reservations as of March 19, 2021 (with a timestamp prior to 9/19/20), 25% weight on competitive registrations, and 25% weight on dealers 12-month rolling Ford...
Update: I emailed my local dealer (Longmont) a couple days ago to see if they could give me an offer at least somewhat comparable to Granger. At first they didn't seem to believe me that any dealer was offering below-invoice pricing, and said they would have to check that out for themselves...
It's refreshing that he's being so honest with you, telling you up front that he's planning to screw you, so you can know to switch dealers. :)
I'll take that any day over a salesperson who promises you a good price at first, only to later insist that this agreed-upon price naturally didn't...
Longmont guy here, strongly considering this--thanks for the thread.
One question: Is there a way yet to know how much lower invoice price will be than MSRP (since B&P tool presumably only shows MSRP)?
