Cash eliminates a profit source and often times requires more work once you reach certain thresholds - 10k is the general limit prior to extra reporting being necessary.
There is no advantage the dealer gains by you paying cash. Most will also limit the method of payment when not financing...
This whole pricing discussion reminds me of one of my favorite jokes:
One day a boy comes home from school and says, "Dad I need to know the meaning of hypothetically and realistically for school."
The father replies, "Go ask your mother if she would sleep with a man for 1 million dollars."...
Nothing other than morals.
That's because there is no check the dealer cashes. They have a revolving account with Ford for Invoiced vehicles and parts. So... Ford just subtracts the amount of each price protection amount from their monthly statement.

Say the dealer you ordered/bought from...
lol... yeah, a lot of problems.
There are no 'checks' mailed to anyone. The price protection amount is applied as a credit to the dealer's monthly statement once they record delivery to the ordering customer. That process usually takes 30-60 days... 45 on average.

61k for a plain Jane Wildtrak is nuts.
If you're going to keep it forever, fine, if that's what you want. Otherwise, you're just buying time... like you said.
Anything with graphics (Wildtrak hood (optionally side)) also goes to mod shop. Look at the end-of-line photos for Wildtraks/Everglades/Raptors... they don't have their graphics on them yet.

Looking around a bit, I do not see any build week threads for the sheets in the 2023...
Don't have a link to the thread, but some folks have put info in the tracking sheet, so there likely is one.
Here's the link to all of the 2023 tracking sheets:

So glad to hear that! I cannot believe that spreadsheet isn't a sea of green.
What a freaking ordeal... I was blended the day after you and have 5200 miles on mine...
HOW DOES THAT EVEN HAPPEN?
Not the miles... the wait. I feel terrible for all those still waiting on built vehicles. Like the...
