Appreciate you commenting! It is really helping ease my mind a bit that others might have the same issue. Obviously the preference is there being no issue, but at least I am not getting any comments like "oh yeah, mine was doing that right before it split in half on the highway like that scene...
Interesting to hear!
I could get used to it if I knew it wasn't going to cause any damage. I had a baaaaad experience with a 2012 Ford Focus (the whole automated manual transmission debacle), so when a car has anything off about it, my paranoia converts to "welp the car is going to die at any...
If they did everything covered by "The Works", here is what Ford's site says:
Tire Rotation and Pressure Check
Brake Inspection
Vehicle Checkup
Fluid Top-Off
Battery Test
Filter Check
Belts and Hoses Check
No Firmware updates to my knowledge.
All tests came back good, no issues of note that...
Aside from window tinting and mud flaps (both done in 2024), I have not altered the vehicle in any way. Additionally, no off-roading or big pothole hits or anything of the sort.
As far as I know, the vehicle is essentially stock.
The weather / seasons changing is the only thing I can think...
I don't normally have my AC on even in the heat (I like the windows down), so I don't think that would be it.
But power surge / lunge is definitely an interesting thought to keep in mind (and also another interesting way of describing the sensation).
I have a 2024 Big Bend (2 door) that I purchased in November. I got my first oil change / the works with Ford about a month ago (4500-ish miles).
Right around the time of the oil change, I started getting a weird breaking peculiarity. I don't remember if it started a day or two before the oil...
Thinking of taking a day off work next week (mid 70s temps) to get in my first ever drive with the top panels off.
Probably going to drive to a river town and enjoy a nice cigar (outside of the Bronco, of course :D) while watching the boats go by.
With a credit score of around 805, the best I could get was 7.3% ish in Nov 2024 for a new 2024 Big Bend.
Within a month I had refinanced at 4.25% via Relative Bank (a relative who was happy to make 4.25% off me, which I was happy to pay them when compared to 7.3%). I was extremely fortunate...
Yesterday I got the new fob swapped out at the dealer. I tried the process again this morning, and had it programmed in about 30 seconds.
Sounds like the original new fob was a dud. Happy it worked. Thanks to all the folks who chimed in!

I called parts.ford.com. They told me I could send it back for a refund, or take it to any dealer to ask them swap it.
During lunch, I drove over to the dealer down the road...but it turns out they are no longer involved with parts.ford.com.
So, tomorrow I will be riding over to the dealership...
Update
On the 3rd fob, I swapped out the battery just to be safe. Still got a key programming error.
Next, I went over to a dealer down the street (which isn't the dealer I bought my car from), and had one of their service guys try it. He also got a key programming error.
He confirmed I have...
Possibly. I just tried it all again during lunch. One thing that definitely seems to matter is that the fobs need to be facing buttons up.
I tried buttons facing down, and got no warning. I waited 5 minutes and tried again, and got no warning.
I waited 5 minutes and tried again, but this time...
I will give it a try on a warmer day  or just wait till the next time I go near a dealer and see if they can watch me for a few seconds.
Attached are images of slides (yes, I am a nerd lol) about all this.
From what I can tell I am using the correct part (with good battery) from...
I appreciate your help (and the help of others!), but I think I am just going to call it a lost cause (for tonight at least, as it is currently 40 degrees outside).
I wrote out your sticky note on my own sticky note and had it on the dash along with a running timer. My progress actually went...
No clue how I am being dumb, but apparently I am.
Got in. Car was off. Doors closed.
Put fob 1 in the spot, hit start stop, 4 chimes happen, I hit start/stop, the dash cluster goes black, I swap to fob 2.
Fob 2 I hit start stop, 4 chimes happen, I hit start/stop, the dash cluster goes black...
The keys that came with the vehicle when I bought it have stickers that say M2DT-15K601-CB1.
The sticker on the 3rd one I got today says M2DT-15K601-CB.
All 3 stickers say 902 MHz on them.
