  1. No reason to get a V-8"

"no reason to get a V-8" "The TRX's 110-mph pace at the end of its 12.3-second quarter-mile run is both 13 mph greater than the Raptor's and faster than the Ford can go flat out."...
  2. V8 Jeep Wrangler production prototype spied testing

This actually a factory test rig now? Would be sweet if it forces Fords hand..... (unlikely, I know) https://www.carscoops.com/2020/07/v8-powered-jeep-wrangler-prototype-is-here-to-rain-on-the-broncos-parade/
  3. D44 vs 8.8

    No 8.8 love??
  4. Curb Weight of new 2021 Bronco Published

Updated with published curb weight :
  5. Retro or Not?

So after all the past "arguments" about how retro the Bronco should be, how do you feel it came out? Overall I think they got a lot of cues in and it looks good. The only area I don't like is the headlight/grill area, but the early bronco was a very tough vehicle to modernize, along with...

  7. Bronco II returns

Thought this was a bit comical when I first read title. https://www.janes.com/article/95937/bronco-ii-returns-for-socom-armed-overwatch-bid
  8. 6 year loans "average" now

People actually saddle themselves for 6 years @ close to $600 a month? https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a32035114/auto-loans-march-average-70-months/ I guess they do.............
  9. five-door-suzuki-jimny

  11. Good thing bronco will come with at least 35's.

As ranger needs 6" lift, ouch...............
  12. Aluminum body confirmed?

Just thinking if I waited to buy a light wreck at some point. Has it been confirmed most of body is definitely alum? I started MiIG'ing alum recently with a spool, but it's a PIA compared to steel.
  13. Paying Cash/Trading something newer??

So my last 4 Fords, I paid cash. Now none of them were over 30 grand each, so of course that was easier. Seems like some trade $40-60 grand cars almost every couple years. Maybe I spend too much on my classics, but I feel poor compared to those guys (and I thought I was in the top 10-15%...
  14. The other lift, body......

So anyone considering it? Had a 3" on my BII with 33 AP's. It was hard enough to align that TTB junk the first 15 times, didn't want any part of doing it again after a lift. Sure would be cheaper than lifting IFS. Wonder if Ford typically leaves enough wiring slack. One good thing with...
  15. IFS on 40's for crawling

Interesting thread here with kit developed primarily for rock crawling. Doesn't seem to solve the really long travel issue, but has interesting concepts for ground clearance and maintaining camber over more of the suspension travel. Seems to more or less use stock frame points as a beginning...
  16. The problem with the ride quality argument.

The public is so pampered, even a long WB mild offroad package has the ride quality bellyachers all disheveled. https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/fx4-suspension-bounce.4037/ Wait until they have to deal with short wheelbase, 31's (or gasp 33's) , and a susp package that supposed to...
  17. 2.3 ECO, MPG with Lift/Tires

Even my 2.7 sucks down way more fuel @ 80 vs 65-70. I think the 2.7 would have to be the min for me, as there is no way I would be not doing a mild lift and tires on it. https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/gas-milage-with-lift.3648/
  18. Intercoolers

Any chance there is going to be more categories or sections? Understood not a whole lot to talk about technically yet, but here goes. So what do the F150 EB's guy do about IC's and dirt. I have plenty of rigs I've taken offroad, and plenty with IC's, but none with both. Even the main trails...
