  1. 2022 Outer Banks Sasquatch Progress Thread

Awesome! Will be watching. My build has gone pretty similar. Ordered my SAS OBX in Oct ā€˜21, built April ā€˜22. Velocity blue, roast but cloth and soft top because in Arizona and keep the top off most of the year. Leather gets too hot and cracked and dry, and MGV burns the skin. 2.7L, modular...
  2. Why so many Outerbanks available for sale at dealerships?

I think Ford assumed OBX would target the more interior and exterior luxury, non-off-road buyers. But when they removed some of the options that made Wildtrak unique, many of us realized an optioned up OBX with SAS (add modular bumper, 2.7L, high or lux package, aux switches basically) gave us a...
  3. Lift Kit Recommendations for Outer Banks with 35's and Sas

Don’t ruin a SAS on 35ā€ with more lift. It’s lifted just as much as it should be for optimum performance. Spend the money somewhere else. Just my opinion.
  4. MPG: OBX Bronco gets 20mpg (19.9) in first 6,000 miles

My SAS OBX has been stuck right at 16.3 MPG for a few months, and that’s averaged since it arrived in May. Drive mostly city, short trips, but also a few California Big Bear Lake and Flagstaff/Sedona trips with some off-road. Mostly drive in Normal or Sport.
  5. VELOCITY BLUE Bronco Club

A whole bunch of us Velocity Blues around Chandler and Tempe. I saw someone with their soft top down turning at Price and Warner last week. VB looks so good in AZ sunshine! I’m in Tempe near Warner/Rural.
  6. Cash or Credit.

If you have one, look into borrowing from your whole life insurance policy. Earn a dividend on your borrowed money while you pay yourself back. I was early enough to get a 2.5% PenFed loan for the difference between MSRP and the trade in of my 2017, 90,000 mile 4Runner (and they gave me what I...
  7. Long Road Trip Tips / Things to Watch Out For?

We’ve done a few and it’s been great, though it does go through gas like any vehicle it’s size. But it was much more comfortable than our previous 4Runner with better gas mileage even though we have SAS.
  8. Built my own old school Heritage Edition Bronco

Enjoying watching this build. Any thought of painting the roll bars white for sunny days?
  9. Gypsy's Retro Inspired HPR "Hoopty" Bronco Badlands Build

This is fantastic, and I wouldn’t change a thing, which is a rare thing for me to say! This Bronco just looks like FUN!
  10. White Braptor with Trailer Up for Auction

Who is this bidder ā€œHalfelvinā€? He bids on nearly every bronco and Raptor on all these auction sites.
  11. šŸ›  4/4/22 build week group [now with Google doc]

Hey all, 6 days from my original order date and saw a few comments on the thread so thought I’d post. I’ve had mine since end of April, zero issues, daily driver plus some fun on trails around AZ and Cali, and some family trips up to Big Bear, L.A., San Diego, Flagstaff, etc. I LOVE this thing...
  12. I would buy this over a Bronco any day!

I’m thinking you are not the right demographic for a more serious off-road vehicle. Stick to the Subarus.
  13. Riding the TWAT (Trans Wisconsin Adventure Trail)

Has anyone done the Trans-America Trail yet? My brother and I hope to attempt it summer of 2023, but it’s looking like he won’t have his truck yet.
  14. Drove Bronco Across America: SF to ATL

Incredible. What a trip and your photos are amazing.
  15. VELOCITY BLUE Bronco Club

I’ll see you around Chandler and Tempe too. There are several of us in S Tempe!
  16. Arizona roll call!

You’re gonna love it. I have a 2022 OBX, 2.7, auto, 4 door SAS, velocity blue. It looks incredible in our AZ Sun.
  17. MGV…The back sweat is real, what gives?

MGV is a terrible option if you ever plan to take the top or doors off. Even white MGV boat seats burn in a little bit of Sun.
  18. Bronco Broken into (toolkit stolen)

Probably his being resold on EBay.
  19. And it’s begun... Bronco Raptor flippers 🤦

There is nothing wrong with the free market here. No one deserves any luxury item. Edit: and by luxury I mean something not needed, but wanted, not luxury vehicle.
  20. Can Bronco handle gas station car wash ?

I’m gonna say no, because no vehicles do well in a wash with brushes. Take this from a former porter at a car dealership who ran thousands of cars through them.
