Out of the blue, my dealer called with the good news that they received an APIM module and I am schedule for installation on Tuesday! It doesn't seem like my dealer and @Ford Motor Company are on the same page with the information.
Hoping for the best on Tuesday!
Well, after being optimistic that the Ford support team would come through and help my dealer fix my Bronco, I am told no such luck.
The APIM module is not available and they ever admit that they cannot even give me a forecast.
No radio, NAV, charge ports, cameras or hands free phone...
Sorry, been MIA from 6G
Your mods look great. I really like the mountain image on the dash panel!
I'll load some pics of mine soon. Need to clean all of the bug cuts off first.
It has been 6 weeks now without a sound system, NAV, cameras, and dead charging ports all due to a bad APIM (SYNC) module.
Yes, I tried the reset trick and disconnected the battery multiple times to try a reset while waiting the 9 days that it took for my dealer appointment. After a day...
I have the same problem and my dealer keeps telling me that my APIM is on backorder. It has been a month now without any radio, NAV, cameras. Kinda makes all of those emails about my trial NAV period a little annoying.
Then seeing all of the Broncos sitting on Ice Mountain waiting for whatever...
Yes. 300 Hz blockers woud be better than nothing, but going up to 600 Hz will help to eliminate the distortion as you turn up the volume.
It is a vast improveet to simply plug in relatively inexpensive speakers over the factory units. Another 10 bucks for a set of bass blockers (aka high pass...
The 4" speakers are 4 ohm. So the filters will block at 300 hz because the blockers would go imediarley before the 4" speakers. This assumes the blockers are installed in the dash. If you install them before the connector to the 6.5" speakers then ithey would block below 150 Hz to both the...
Just posted. eBay seller is "fast-daddy"
I also made up a couple of sets with 600 Hz bass blockers like I put on my dash speakers. https://www.ebay.com/itm/334336265209
Not only are they the exact fit, but they tie maintain the dash speaker connections to the front channel just like the factory plug.
The only difference is that the factory speakers have the connector on the outer rim of the speaker which is on the outside of the speaker mount holes. To...
I never thought of the need explain, but see your point. I don't have "stuff" to push; just the making the speaker leads because they aren't available anywhere else. When they are, I'm done. It was fun figuring out how to make them, but I would not advise it for others. I'm more interested...
Yes, I am putting those adapters together and offering them through eBay. If I was really trying to simply promote my "product," I would be tagging every post that mentions them on here. Take it like a grain of salt that everything I am posting is all about promoting my speaker leads...
Also, these are the correct adapters for swapping in the 4" speakers. https://www.ebay.com/itm/334316448985
Despite what other have posted, the Metra 72-5600 do not work. However, they will work to connect to the factory fog light wiring in the modular bumper.
The factory setup is using a 2 ohm configuration, so running the same configuration is fine. Your really want to be in the 2 to 4 ohms range. This is what the amp is set up for. Many of the JBL speakers have an impedance of 3 ohm. This creates 1.5 ohm in parallel, and 6 ohms in series...
Did you get to "ground zero" for testing at Johnson Valley? We plan on going to the coordinates stamped in the roll bar and taking a photo with the GSP displayed to match. Not sure we can get to the exact spot, but we have it on our list Bronco bucket list.
