  1. Toasted my rear M220 axle...40s, towing, heavy foot 😋

You sir, are a gear nerd. I mean that in the most complimentary way. Kudos to you sir!
  2. Toasted my rear M220 axle...40s, towing, heavy foot 😋

You had me at "because I like them." I feel similarly about guns.
  3. After 2 yrs 2 months 5 days... Modded my Basesquatch.

I have RPG spring perch lift installed and 37" General Grabber X3s. Yes, the increased angle on the tie rod from having to "reach down" and not straight across creates deflection and increased wear on the rack housing. The inserts reinforce the bar (sorry if I sound like a dummy) that the tie...
  4. After 2 yrs 2 months 5 days... Modded my Basesquatch.

I got the RC delrin bushes for my steering rack. I didn't want to drop the coin on the billet, teflon coated inserts. I don't wheel that hard and haven't had any issues. I do carry 2 spare tie rods in the tool bag just in case. I believe in my heart that keeping the rod in the rack centered will...
  5. 2023 Bronco DR off-road racer sells for $440,000 at Barrett Jackson

Your post is kind of underselling the 79 that sold for that price. It's basically an Icon restomod. Blown Coyote, All new chassis and drivetrain, all the man hours spent working the body over. I'm not saying I would spend that kind of coin, but that sure is a pretty truck. The company who built...
  6. After 2 yrs 2 months 5 days... Modded my Basesquatch.

Kind of similar setup, I have a spring perch lift with 37's and have the tie rod boogeyman under my bed as well. I have JKS tie rod sleeves and delrin inserts in both sides of my steering rack. I overland mostly but do enjoy the rocks when I can. Still have not broken a rack or tie rod yet...
  7. Front and Rear Long Travel Bronco Build

Bro, you take your wheeling videos to a new level. :ROFLMAO:
  8. Happy Wednesday!!! Let's see those 🥶 Ice / Sn❄w photos!!!

Took a roadtrip to Fairplay Colorado last week. Weather was too bad for snowboarding so we just ended up snow wheeling the whole time. We did put all my shiny new recovery gear to the test pulling cars out of ditches though. Makes me want a winch in the worst kind of way. Maybe #lobooffroad can...
  9. Okay, let's see them. Your favorite picture for 2023!

LOVE the old skool vibes on this.
  10. Okay, let's see them. Your favorite picture for 2023!

Road trip from Dallas area to Montana. Weiner dog ordering lunch. Bottom picture was taken on the Alpine Loop in Colorado.
  11. It’s MY25, your Bronco is getting a refresh, what are your most desired changes/adjustments?

Why are so many functions disabled while driving? What if my passenger wants to change the address in the nav while moving? They aren't driving! Also, why does my Android Auto drop the connection every time I drive through a town? Wireless Android Auto operability is sub-optimal.
  12. It’s MY25, your Bronco is getting a refresh, what are your most desired changes/adjustments?

    1. Steering rack that doesn't explode on contact with any stone bigger than a pebble. 2. Beefy tie-rods. 3. Axles that do not exceed critical angle when the "Lift Me Baby!" vehicle is lifted more than 1". 4. Lower shock mounts that do not hang up on every obstacle. 5. Front lower strut bolts...
  13. It's Christmas Lights Time 🎄 Show Yours!

I was full prepared to respond with, "Nope, just you" until I saw the rest of the psychos on this thread. I am glad the Christmas spirit is alive and well. Merry Christmas to all of you f'ers out there! :ROFLMAO:
  14. Frozen steering rack (with aftermarket parts)

What the hell is a snow sock?
  15. Frozen steering rack (with aftermarket parts)

It's a foolish issue, he didn't put a hose clamp on his steering rack boots. He got water in his steering rack as a result and if froze in cold weather.
  16. Comms: GMRS Newbie 101?

I have MXT275s in all my vehicles. They are great for multi vehicle road trips when there is no signal between cities. We drive from Texas to Colorado a few times a year and cell coverage is spotty in NM and west Texas. A GMRS license covers the whole family so every kid gets a cheap Baofeng...
  17. Comms: GMRS Newbie 101?

Check out Notarubicon on Youtube. He is the way forward. Don't be a "Sad Ham"! WRNB936
  18. What is the appeal of off-roading?

With all due respect, sir, you are a f'n nutcase. No way in H-E-Double Hockey Sticks are you getting me into an underwater cave. I dive in open water but enclosed spaces with no air freak me out.
  19. New Product Release: Fuse Box Cover with Wire Pass-Through

My question is, why are the slits for the wires facing the engine versus facing the fender? If you wanted a cleaner looking wiring job, I would have faced the fender so you don't have a gaggle of wires running across the top of the box looking like an afterthought. This makes my OCD act up...
