Hidden winch + cylinder = cannot reach free spool lever and you need to make a custom tool to turn it on a 4 cylinder.
Just remote mount the winch controller
Easy solution for all. Just remotely mount the winch control box under the hood. If you went with a hidden winch you have to do this anyway. If you went with a hidden winch and have a 2.7L there is almost no way of getting to the free spool lever.
All the wiring is there even if you do not have the AUX switches. To add the Aux switches, you need a different under hood fuse box and the Aux switches. There is a video on YouTube about this.
You did not miss anything. The video is terrible. Near the glove box you can connect either wire coming from the engine compartment to either wire going to the roof or rear quarter. Only connect 2 factory wires together.
Try start/stop with a manual and a quiet exhaust. I tried to forscan it off and nothing happened. I used forscan to eliminate double honk with no issues.
I went to Team O'Neil Rally schools Rally fest with My 2-door base Manual Bronco. They had a cone course setup; I did 2 runs. The First run I shut Traction Control off and the 2nd run I shut advance trac off.
It felt like advance trac being off made me a lot slower than traction control off.
I have hauled 2900lbs (maxing out trailer tires) with manual ford focus' no problem. The 2-door manual Bronco makes it seem like nothing is there. Granny gear starting out on a hill is cheating.
