If I do start to slip into emotion, I'll snap right out of it when the "Finance Manager" buttonholes me for the requisite 90 minute torture session. "I'm paying cash." "I know, this will just take 5 minutes."
It is dead standard behavior on forums involving valuable and desirable things to delete specific identifying details when posting pictures. On cars, the tags. On watches, the serial number that is often visible on photos of the back of the watch. And so on. Nothing weird about it whatsoever...
Arguing is fine (at least with me). That's how you learn new things.
This point is where I think we differ. When you say that this "means that the 2021 agreement gets cancelled," is there a specific provision of the contract you are referring to that gives the dealer the right to cancel? I...
Technically you are right, its only a credit for the difference in MSRP of the particular Bronco you ordered for the 2021 MY. It doesn't protect you from ADM any more than it protects you from the dealer deciding to, say, double the prices on its service/maintenance schedule for you. But if you...
OK, a post is made with a sensational headline suggesting that Ford is doing something nefarious with First Edition orders.
Then the actual communication is belatedly added, making it clear that the only FE orders that are being messed with are (1) those that were fraudulent and where there was...
They win because they win. Should Ford allocate its hottest vehicle to dealers who can't convert customers?
This isn't high school or college anymore where everyone gets a participation trophy. At some point, despite the best efforts of half the country, actual efforts and results still matter.
Good Lord. Indescribable frustration!
In this case, the culprit is our paternalistic government that treats us all like infants. In a situation like this, the customer should be able to waive any delivery hold and knowingly take possession of the vehicle with the so-called "defect". But no...
My own hunch — and that’s all it can be because personally I know only a very tiny slice of car collectors so I’m not in a position to know what they’re worried about — is that investing attitudes are frequently less determined by how much money a person has than by how they obtained it.
Maybe this was a hamfisted way of referring to the accessory steps that Ford sells for this price. The FE has rock rails but has no steps and with the lift/35s, many will need to buy the accessory steps although they are often poo-poo'd by "true" offroaders.
Interesting. I'm not sure what that paperwork is, but it is not an agreement to purchase a Bronco. It says right on it that the $1000 deposit will be deducted "from the agreed-upon price." If no price was agreed on, its likely there was no binding agreement at all. An order will have a set...
OK. Sorry to hear that. FYI, Mine is also a 2D FE converted to a "confirmed" order in early March '21. I got the VIN/"scheduled for production" email Aug 19 projecting a production date of week of 9.27 (tracker updated to "in production" on or about September 28) and a "has been built" email...
Agree that the FE has some shot at commanding a premium on the used market. But keeping a car for 30 years is a lousy use of capital. You tie up 60K in a car for 30 years and even if you hit a Ferrari-like home run in terms of collectible appreciation and survive the many risks of attempting...
You got emails indicating when your order was accepted, when they started to build your Bronco and when the build was completed. Those emails had a link to click to "track your order." Doing that brings up a web page that gives a projected delivery date. When you tracked your order, what...
Something is seriously wrong here. If you actually ordered a FE and your dealer didn't somehow mess up its order from Ford, you are getting a FE. If that isn't happening either whatever you had wasn't really an order, or the dealer mistakenly told Ford you did not want to take the FE.
First...
