When I peruse the instructions Ford mentions the adaptive cruise control and front bumper sensors will be affected but, it does appear they designed the mount to cause minimum airflow disruption to this area. it
I agree, the shutters are there for a reason and open and close by the ECU based on engine and intercooler temperatures. Blocking them with anything changes the airflow design and could potentially be asking for trouble.
Since Tesla can’t even make a fully autonomous car at this point I would say it is a long ways away. What can be done right now with the over the air technology is to brick the vehicle at a known location so it can be towed away.
