Legitimate point . . . but let's think about how many owners are removing the factory-installed crash bars to mount 35" or larger tires. Sacrificing safety for aesthetics seems to be a trend.
Yes, I'd always consider the manufacturer specs as well as the recommendation of the tire shop that's...
Uh, I'm not sure where the "negative" comes from . . . just do a search on this forum and there are dozens of folks posting this very size with base steel (me included).
This works. Very popular upgrade. There are several companies that make that same size tire, too (Bridgestone, General, etc.) if you want to go a different route.
Sorry for resurrecting an older thread, but if you're still in need, I have two black ones. Neither used more than once, and would be happy to trade for a silver one.
Fourth vote to bring the top b/c of the heavy Summer rains. We moved here from Oregon in 2020 and I swear, a ārain stormā in the Northwest is nothing like the forty minute torrential downpours that can occur in Arizona.
Bring a sturdy umbrella if you plan to be outside in the afternoon / early...
I would go with the rubber mat. This one is just okay, as it isnāt very thick or padded and it does tend to shift around a little. The plastic elbows stick via Velcro if you want to create a box or hold something reasonably in place, but itās not that great if the own mat moves.
When I ordered Area 51, it was a somewhat uncommon color. Now I see it on Subarus, Toyotas, Broncos, etc. Should have just stuck with white or black rather than be the "trendy" color.
There are a lot of tire options at 285/75/R16. Not so much for new wheels because of the uncommon offset. I wouldn't push past 285, even if you could find a shop willing to do it. At that point, if you want bigger, find some take-offs at 17" and be prepared to remove the crash bars. Or you...
Minor pet peeve, in the grand scheme of (1) people waiting almost two years, (2) chipped windshields, and (3) 2.7L engine problems, but why did they design it so the right wiper blade hits the antenna? Did they think that everyone would just remove the antenna or nobody bothers to clean their...
My kids have the same model with the different body styles. They work okay, considering the size and lack of weight. There's a whole industry for brass parts made in China to help with motoring.
FYI, Chevy and Jeep charge a $10 to $25 upcharge for licensing the C10, Wrangler, and Gladiator...
Landmark Ford in Tigard, Oregon - went through two or three sales reps over the 12+ months, but things went from reserve --> MY21 order --> MY22 order pretty smoothly. Darren Nash was helping me out.
Definitely have to remove the rear crash bars and probably the fronts, too. I think most people add a 1" lift, at minimum, but if you aren't going off-road, you might get away without.
I think you have to remove the crash bars beyond 33ā tires. Potential safety issue if thatās your thing.
On 33ā tires and the steel wheels, I havenāt noticed any change in noise or performance from the 30ā stock tires.
The base comes with Bridgestones and thereās a bump up to 285/75/16 if youāre looking to go bigger, but if that tire isnāt working for you, maybe try General or Cooper or Yokohama. My upsized Bridgestone Duelers are A/T and worked great in the Portland rain all week.
No, I mean I would have paid extra for CRANK windows rather than power / push button. One less thing to break. I hate electronics because I can sort of understand how a mechanical engine works, but have no clue about computers and chips and programming, etc. And there's no wrench in the tool...
