Mine are fine, the rear end slides out if I take a corner at a bit of speed. But I am used to RWD vehicles so that's normal for me. Just put in slippery mode & pace your braking. (~8000 miles on mine).
For your *bosses* needs I might go for the BFG Trail Terrains. If he's not going to wheel, then true A/T tyres would be sacrificing on-road comfort no matter what you choose.

Can manual ones be disconnected under load? Idk I use mine on bumpy roads & it's great. I feel like if I had a manual one installed I would barely ever use it.
I can't get over there being no dead petal. I'm the type that usually has my foot firmly placed on the dead petal when not braking or utilizing the clutch.
Lower right-side corner. I think at about 1,00 miles. One on the left side near the top at like 5,000. Neither cracked, but I do have tiny chips right in front of the driver view that will make me get a new windshield at some point (constantly looks like rain specs on the window).
WHAT DID YOU SAY?! Haha, seriously my soft top is quite quiet (when there is no wind buffeting the sides). I more so notice the cabin pressure is not the same as non-convertibles at highway speeds. So, I need to yawn to pop my ears so I can hear.
Personally, if MSRP compared to MSRP. I'd go Everglades, but this is more based on my home location. Being in Michigan the snorkel, and whatever they did with the 2.3 (if anything) to increase the fording depth can very well come in handy. Not many places to high speed off-road around here...
I'll be honest the hardtop looks better than the cloth, but that's the only benefit I see. These things have had issues since the start. Very happy as a Michigander that I did not go with the hardtop.
Badland - Harbor Freight Tools
No kinetic rope in the Harbor Freight Badland line, but the strap & soft shackle I'd highly recommend. Also, the 10,000-snatch strap says it does have stretch for that added safety net.
My bet is that is a pre-production unit (pilot). Which would make sense given they are trashbags for testing. You will see pilot units of many types all the time in MI.
Yeah well, the cost of one is pretty immense being more than the Wildtrack. There is no ability to have the High + package. No front facing camera at all. The development of the 2.3 engine and what they changed with it is very vague.
Overall, the pricing should have been below the wildtrack...
