In the 50 years I've been skiing I've used boxes, racks, internal bags all of it. Boxes are fine but If I can't get in the garage with it on not going to use it. I do have access to one now if I ever need it. I'll be using my very old Yakima ski rack, never had an issue just need to clean skis...
