So the stuck in production theories are as follows (chime in if I've missed anything):
- Some issue with the availability or quality of the Dana rear axles
- Mic top shortage
- Extra QC
- Shipping backlogs so no real need to move them to built
- Mod shop is backed up with too many bumper/ rack/...
I’ll drop a deposit on a new Land Cruiser when those orders open up at the end of the year. I’ll likely have an almost brand new Bronco to trade in by the time the LC shows up in Spring of 24.
I’ll use the chat when I’m stuck on a conference call or want to just test the waters quickly. I have a copy and paste script with my vin saved on my desktop.
I usually only call the marketing line once every couple of weeks. That takes a lot of time and so far, hasn’t been that much better...
I called the marketing line mostly to confirm my private certificate number and amount but tried to push them for more info regarding the status of my build. No joy- same primary (in production) and secondary (produced/ built) status as always. I wasn't provided any additional info and there...
Just had a bizarre back and forth with chat... they didn't give me the typical pad answers but confirmed that A- my delivery ETA was "pending an update" and that my Bronco was "Built." Not sure this means anything at all but I rather enjoyed the relative weirdness of that chat interaction...
Honestly- all of this could be true (seatbelt recalls, axle issues, MIC shortages...) or all of it could be nonsense. Personally, it all feels like speculation. Speculation that wouldn't be necessary if Ford would just communicate with order holders. Ford knows what going on. They are CHOOSING...
Just called Ford's executive office since I haven't heard anything from them since they said they would look into it last week. Left VM, we'll see if I get a call back.
I’d settle for knowing what was delaying built and shipping. Don’t get me wrong- love to see it ship but at least like to know what’s happening.
This week and next would be the weeks to see a lot of movement if we fit the same pattern as the 4/24 build week.
My lack of optimism leads me to dread that when my door was last opened on June 1st- it was to move it to a hinterland of holding lots to sit and rot. Dealer said it was in Dearborn which doesn’t make since because that’s near/ at the F150 plant.
