My dealer said the painted hard tops will be existing soft tops cover in paper mache and then painted to match the body color. As soon as the paper machete is in stock, we will be dropping our soft top off at the dealer.

My soft top is already broken so I think you are damned either way you go. I have not been impressed with this soft top design at all. Plastic tabs that hold the sections of together break really easily, the metal cables rub against everything, I can just see these not last very long with a lot use.

My wife wanted to order a new hard top as soon as we could. I told her we should wait until version 3 or 4. I knew they wouldn’t get it all right in this version. The bronco hard top next to my Jeep’s is night and day. Soft tops been good so far. I’ll stick with it for now.

I have an auto but I would agree that driving a manual is more fun. Personally there is no other benefit, just more fun to throw that stick shift around.
