Have you confirmed somehow that the regular system in the BD has a standalone amp that’s easy to replace? I’m getting that too and haven’t seen one way or the other. If it’s integrated into the head unit life is much more complicated.

Beyond everything you outlined (really good detail) if you've got one person on a shift with C19 then you've got everyone else out a minimum 48 hours waiting for test results. Manufacturing wasn't easy to begin with and things have gotten infinitely more challenging.

Agree weight isn't the issue... problem is how do you navigate something so bulky and awkward without either damaging any paint or the top itself? Ah, makes sense. So that's a big "no" on locating a USB there. If that tray replaces a speaker there's gotta be sufficient room under there to mount an aftermarket USB outlet there.
