I finally built my system - I'm really pleased with my manifold and chuck solution but I've bought three inexpensive compressors now and none of them are great. First one overheated with one tire so I returned it. Bought a cheap dual cylinder with an adjustable pressure shut-off switch and it...
I have a little glitch in my 360 camera system and am wondering if this is a calibration issue or just a limitation of the system based on the asymmetry of the side windows. See below video - while this is a real digital miracle that it works at all, the left side is pretty clean and consistent...
It's unclear to me whether he means you don't need the sway bar at all? Or if he's saying you don't need the disconnect? If he's saying we don't need them at all, that's against all safety and handling knowledge I'm aware of. My question is about off-road performance.
Here's what I'm getting at...
With IFS, the frame isn't going to be lifted as much as a SFA and so you won't get as much clearance help by putting a tire over an obstacle as you will with the SFA. So, if that's true (and it seems clear that it is) then it seems like flex is not your friend...
Just had a thought - is it best not to disconnect the sta-bar in some circumstances? For example, when I put a wheel on a high part of an obstacle, I can lift the body to gain clearance over other parts of that obstacle. But, if I have less flex, I raise the body less.
Thoughts?
I don't think you'll regret SAS -- I wish I had it in my Badlands. I thought I wouldn't care, but the gearing can't easily be added. I also went back and forth on 2.7 - my 2.3 is certainly adequate but something inside still wants the 2.7.
Thanks. Sounds like a fun thing to put together. I have bought a few small portable compressor and they overheat too easy. I don’t care how long it takes or how long they last but want something small and inexpensive. Anyone seen any of those retail brands that perform well enough?
Just got back from http://offroading101.com (in Bryan). It was a lot of fun and learned a ton - even after doing OffRoadeo. Looking forward to their other classes. Great group of folks, too. Mostly from Houston area, but not exclusively. There was one other Bronco - mostly Jeeps.

I bought a Harbor Freight torque wrench and it's impossible to hear/feel any sort of click. It's at the bare minimum of the torque range, so I don't think it's a good option.
Hanging with the Jeeps at an off-road course - instructor made this after. If OffRoadeo is all about the experience and learning to know what you and your rig "can" do - this group is about teaching you "how." Looking forward to future classes. If you're in Central/East/Northeast Texas...
