Yeah, I hear you. Dealers want to sell the vehicle and make a profit, and any time spent doing work that Ford should have done is money out of the dealer's bottom line - which would probably get passed on to us, similar to how gas stations sometimes charge more for gas bought with a credit card.
Honestly, having read through the pages of posts on this thread, it seems like the OP has a computer literacy problem (look at the weird way he's quoting prior posts and responding to them), and because of that, he probably overlooked the emails from Ford telling him to convert his reservation...
So the vehicles would still have to stay with the dealership until the relevant chip(s) are disseminated to the dealers and installed by their mechanics? That could spell trouble if the techs don't know what they're doing, plus I'm not sure how Ford would handle the logistics of actually...
So both these people had some significant progress today even though their blend dates are 5 days apart. Now granted, this is only 2 data points and not every person with a 1/17 build week Bronco is posting here. But based on these reports, it does seem that Ford is not finalizing these vehicles...
The tracker is inconsistent. Recently I was lucky enough to snag a reservation on an abandoned order (with an original blend date of 1/19 and an actual blend date of 1/21), so I'm tracking both that order and my original order using the pizza tracker. Frequently, including right now, the tracker...
Thank you for your kind words. I'm also hoping it arrives sooner than I think. Interestingly, she might be too young to have the surgery - she's only 8 months, and the one doctor I met with on Friday said she might have to wait until she's 10 months old. So that gives me an extra 2 months to get...
The problem I'm facing with this delivery delay is that it might make it more difficult to bring my dog home after having the surgery she needs. She's an Old English Sheepdog, she's 8 months old, and she requires bilateral hip replacements because she has hip dysplasia. Thankfully I have...
I've wondered the same thing, and one possible counter is that not every employee knows how to install the chips. I don't know that for sure, it's just something I've postulated myself.
I wonder if they're just working on the vehicles closest to the entrance and then working their way out from there. In an ideal world, the guys who are taking photos and videos of Ice Mountain would have some sort of time lapse thing where we could visually track the changes in the overall...
Lack of attention to detail by factory-level personnel is certainly problem, but it is fundamentally different from the higher-level resource allocation and build prioritization issues that appear to be affecting those of us with vehicles sitting on Ice Mountain.
I considered this a few days ago. There's a Ford dealer about 200 miles away from me with a Badlands that has a $59k MSRP. They wanted $74k for it, unfortunately. The guy on the phone tried to explain the market conditions to me, and tried to sell me on the idea that while there's an upcharge...
There's a 175+ page thread dedicated to those of us with your build week. This issue has dominated the discussion in that thread for at least the last week to ten days.
My original estimated delivery date was Feb 17, and it held strong for a few days even after people started saying in this thread that their estimated delivery date got pushed back to May. Sadly, I can report that I now have a new estimated delivery date of May 17.
