Found your thread, doing some searches for my info. Not much out there, so hope this helps someone else searching in the future...
I bought some Sasquatch take-offs and wanting to black out the caps. Rather than rattle-can them with black paint or tint, I decided to buy some plain black ones...
EDIT: I found a thread here with good info - via google. Search here didn't work too well... For those interested: https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/sliders-rock-chip-protection.34969/
Question on rock-sliders / steps: Do they provide protection against gravel / mud / spray kicking up...
[I cut the original quote down a bit.]
Reading through this thread, the issue of checking and possibly re-torquing a fastener with loktite on it seems to be more controversial than using spacers! :)
I worked it out in Jan/Feb and wanted to place an order but the sales guy was - weirdly - in no hurry. Finally got the order officially placed on March 14th and hoping to take delivery mid/late July. So this has been a 6-month process for me and I have no appetite to start over! :)
My Bronco is 'Built' and 'Awaiting Shipment'. Too late to change it. No easy way to swap out to another Bronco, given that I really want a manual shift.
Lots of good comments in the thread and you're right. I've decided to get 5 of the same, and given up on the idea of 4 big plus OEM spare. Was just kicking around ideas and looking for feedback as I'm new to this whole thing.
Just cuz someone has/had a 911 doesn't mean they throw $$ around...
yeah - you're not wrong. There's a bit of coulda-shoulda-woulda for me. I spec'd this out (with stick shift) in February and the dealer took till March to order it and it's finally about to come in. Meanwhile, my wife and I have been looking at Broncos and decided we like the look of the...
With your Bronco?
I've been looking. There are some decent deals on Sasquatch take-offs. Maybe I should just keep looking. My current impression is that the wheels look like dime-a-dozen, when I could get something a bit different. Thinking bronze Method 703s with 0 offset. And also, nobody...
going from Black Diamond 32s to some pretty heavy 35s. Whether Rough Country $, Ford $$, or Turn Offroad $$$.
Seems like people say some reinforcement is needed. sag, whistling, etc. Maybe I'm spending too much time on this forum!
(well, I'm definitely spending too much time on this forum -...
This is great info. Coming into this Bronco, I'm selling 2 aging vehicles - a RWD Suburban and I already sold my RWD 911. I'm a 4WD newbie for the most part. Thx! I think I'll probably bite the bullet and get all matchy-matchy.
btw - my 911 and many of my previous cars had donut spares and...
My non-Sasquatch Bronco coming in July - finally! New here so take it easy please. Pricing new wheels tires - Method 703s with 0 offset and Ridge Grappler 35/12.50/17. All in, coming to over $950 per wheel/tire (TPMS, mounting on wheel, tax, etc). Would be $400+ for spare tire reinforcement...
Cut out some of the message to focus on Base and Mid.
(btw - Does Ford know that kids use the term 'mid' pejoratively?)
Is there an answer to this Q for Mid?
How to get the best bang for buck upgrade on a tight budget
My brother has a white outer banks SAS and it seems to have the black appearance package. I know he bought it off the lot. He really doesn't know much about all this AFAIK. I'm not going to tell him that he got a downgrade. I live in another state and don't get to see it often. I'm just...
