I can’t speak to the Forscan change on B&O, just that the rears are the same speakers and ran off the stock unit, not the amp.

Stock B&O rears have 0 difference from the base system.

A speaker needs airspace to isolate (or tune via a port) the back wave. It also needs that airspace to provide sufficient resistance to dampen the cones movements. In short, the space is needed for any sort of bass response, and honestly there probably isn’t even enough in the design.

Fiberglass over MDF for one, moisture and MDF are a really bad combo. And a 10 vs an 8 would be my reasoning.

They won’t just mold the B&O, they make a wood box then create a fiberglass mold off that, they also design the box for a specific frequency response.

Unfortunately haven’t seen that one figured out yet. I think some have said it’s a ported box, but haven’t seen a picture that shows that yet.
