The stock muffler is just too damn quiet. I'm used to being able to at least tell that the engine is running. I plan on adding an axle back or possibly cat back at some point, but I'd like to hear a few in person first. In the meantime, I can now hear it when it's on.
Scenario: You buy a bronco and love it, your wife loves it to. Every day, you walk out to the garage only to find your bronco gone and your wife's CRV still sitting there. Do you fight over the bronco, accept it and drive the CRV from then on, or trade in for another bronco?
Easy decision to me.
Just looked back through my emails and you are correct, I must have been remembering what I had heard about weight previously.
The actual shops told me between 100-175lbs depending on brand/thickness.
Lasted until I had to load up 2 wet/muddy dogs in the back, so about a week. π
Good news is with the lack of carpeted flooring or cloth seats, the wet dog smell was gone in the time it took to watch a couple episodes of Star Trek. Just had to open the windows and let it air out.
I'm not a fan of red vehicles myself but I do Like it! I agree with a couple others on here who mentioned going 2 tone with a black or white top but I still like it as is.
I priced out single color wraps in my area at between 6-$10,000 vs 4-6k for full bed liner coverage and the liner is pretty...

It is super comfortable, though a little bulky. I do wish I had gotten the 3" instead of 4" just to save some space when folded up.
Spent 3 hours hanging out in the back, listening to music, surfing B6G, and charging my phone because my power went out.
FYI, the USB port up front will cut power after like 10min if you turn the bronco off but the USB in the rear passenger area stays on. π
I definitely think it's worth it. Only had mine on a short time but have definitely noticed a major decrease in bug splatter. Can't really speak to rock deflection yet.
Definitely don't see it as a deal breaker. If you can get some freebies out of it, cool, but either way, I don't think it's worth having to wait on a new order.
$1200 for just a 10" sub in a box!?! Lol, I paid $1000 with install for two JL 12" W1 in a pro box with a jbl 1200 watt amp in my VW.
Edit: forgot that price also included a $120 alpine head unit with install.
I only drive 3-5000 miles a year, so it's not worth it to me. If I've got things breaking within the first 50,000 miles, I'd replace with a beefed up aftermarket version rather than replace with another factory part that's already proven unreliable. I tend to look at failing car parts as an...
Ngl, $1500 for the interior liner feels like a swift kick to the balls. Everything else seems to be priced somewhat reasonably and I may just have to get one without a liner. I can always hit it with dynamat later if needed.
