Even 33s would be fun there. 35s would let you roll over more stuff easier, but the loss of articulation might cause issues here and there without lockers.
I was just checking weights, and the bronco is pretty heavy compared to a wrangler. A two door rubicon wrangler is 4,160lbs and the four door is 4,449lbs. The bronco badlands looks to be close to 5,000lbs for the four cylinder model.
My stock rubicon has minimal skids on it. I did change the thin diff covers to 3/8" steel covers and welded 1/4" plate to the lower control arm/shock mounts. I took it crawling quite a bit when stock on the stock 32" KM tires. The aftermarket will surely make aluminum, plastic, and steel skids...
I don't race cars on tracks if I can't afford to wad them up and hopefully walk away from them. Lots of test and tune drag racers take their chances and lose at drag strips. I've even seen some who wreck on the strip and then get the car towed and dropped on the side of the road somewhere. With...
People told me the same thing when I went to get my two door Rubicon with manual windows, manual locks, manual transmission, etc. To hell with them. I've always wanted a two door. If you can't crawl in the back, you're not going. My parents only had two door trucks and cars when I was a kid...
I'd tell the dealer they eat it or I walk away. Almost every dealer I've been to has some scotch guard or other rediculously priced adder "you can't not get." To hell with them.
A-plan is for immediate family. X-plan is for friends and family outside immediate and supplier partners. That's the way it was explained to me. I also have cousins who work for Toyota and they don't offer any discount outside immediate family. I used to live next the Toyota...
Every new Ford I've purchased I bought on x-plan with the help of family that works for ford. One of the dealers tried to add extras to the sale, and a ford employee present at the time got after them for trying to tack on fees on top of the x-plan price. The pricing sheet should be shown to...
I have a low option rubicon without the EVIC (no pressure readings at all), and I use the AEV procal to disable TPMS (diagnostic mode) when running wheels without TPMS sensors. If I have wheels on that have TPMS sensors I leave the system activated. I just get the deflated tire warning the...
My cousin had a 2003 6.0 Powerstroke F350 with the 6 speed manual that had the bull dog gear. He works at the super duty plant and didn't trust the first year of the new automatic at the time.
What Laminar and Internally_Combusted said. Higher octane gas like 91/93 and especially E85 resist detonation by having higher flash points. You can run higher pressure and temperatures without preignition. Turbo cars can also use the wastegate to regulate boost levels along with the dynamic...
I'd like more options on the interior crap and infotainment. I think the drivetrain packages and sasquatch offering are pretty good, but I don't want the lux crap just to get decent speakers and amps. Ford has made their audio systems and integrated dash so difficult to modify that I've just...
I run mountain roads quite often in addition to crawling from time to time. I often air down my tires to 18lbs for running the mountain roads faster. I also use adjustable Rancho shocks that let me soften them up for a softer ride. I usually disconnect the front sway bar too.
Items I keep...
On JK jeep wranglers, if you didn't get the hard top from the factory, you didn't get the washer fluid hose, wiper wiring, or defrost wiring. Seeing how ford does their options, this might be a problem on Bronco too. It's not cheap or easy to add the wiring harness and change the wiper stalk...
