Wow. It's hard for me to believe Bestop wouldn't meet the quality requirements for Ford after seeing the droopy rear on the top that Ford is using on the 4 doors! Their soft tops for the JL are top notchin my opinion.
But, I do know from personal experience with the 2018 JL Wrangler that Bestop...
In addition to cost savings, I'm thinking that Ford doesn't want a bunch more defective tops out in the wild for owners and prospective buyers or competition to find problems with. Looks bad for them to have brand new vehicles on the road with these types of problems.
I have never leased a vehicle. I just don't feel like it is the right thing for me, so I wouldn't recommend it.
I definitely think you should buy the Bronco! Someone earlier mentioned you are probably in better financial position that some of us who are twice as old..... And also, you are not...
I just heard back from my dealer. He said dealerships were given the option to sell them to reservation/order holders but it was not mandatory for them to do so.
Once I heard that the vehicle was still mine, I didn't question any further. But it sounded like the dealership might be able to take...
As I understand it, they are allowed to do whatever they want to do with it, so they could allow that. But that defeats the purpose of the program which is to drum up more sales.
I was told that once it gets into the 5th month that I could take the vehicle and come back when the period is over...
I don't have a pre-March order either. I didn't even reserve until 7-7-21 I think, because I was waiting to drive one. So I'm waiting until MY22 ordering opens up.
I will update when I get updated.
I reserved one with some money down. As far as I know, there is only a requirement to keep the vehicle for 6 months at this time. There is no mileage requirement.
However, someone posted recently that they were told Ford is now stipulating dealers can only sell FCTP (demo/mannequin) vehicles to...
It seems they constantly change the requirements.
Makes sense and seems fair to allow only early order holders to buy them after FCTP period is over. Particularly if they are having issues producing Broncos to fulfill orders.
But, based on the amount of haters that have responded to this...
I'm sure people with an OB or BB would swap seats with you (and carpet....lol). I know I would.
I want the MGV for water and stain resistance and vinyl flooring for easy maintenance.
You can add the Bestop soft top onnthe B&P, unless it recently disappeared.
I'm assuming Bestop is not ready to produce them yet though. They are super slow.
