Glad you made it through! Definitely similar to what happened to me today. So many split second decisions and what ifs. The more I recap it to people, the more I'm 1. Absolutely stunned I'm alive given all that took place and 2. that only 3 vehicles were impacted when I was pushed across 3 lanes...
I agree, this has been the case from the beginning. I was fortunate enough that Ford agreed it was a warrantable defect at all.
This is the hood, not the cowl. The bright, new, Code Orange hood.
When this all started- I pushed hard for a new hood for the exact reasons I am having now. Ford...

A very long story shorter, I found a local dealership willing to take my warranty claim for the dent in the fiberglass hood from...
Most of my calls have gone unreturned. They're still sitting on my Bimini top from the rewards thing as well as a litany of other issues that popped up after I picked up my vehicle. Without Renee, I'd stay away.
Thanks! For the "GCR" pictures. Can you elaborate on this? I know they took pictures and submitted those as well as mine when they put in this prior approval request but I'm concerned if we've past any deadlines I wasn't aware of while trying to hand off to a local dealership.
Alright so I've made up my mind and I think I'll patch the chip, and then go PPF plus maybe some after market mud flaps if anyone ever makes some that don't look like trash. I found a local place that warranties their PPF against rock chips for 10 years. And maybe if I can flip my stock tires...
Hey Phil-
Thanks for the advice! Your opinion seems the most valid to me since you are in the know. I see at the top of the doc they sent me it looks like what they submitted was a "prior approval request". I see that Ford updated and specifically noted in asterisks "Prior Approval Not...
Definitely would have purchased local if they had a Raptor :)
My reservation was upgraded over a year ago so decided to stay with my original dealership.
I agree 100% which is why I asked for the payout. It honestly seems like the best option for all parties because it's the easiest and I just go away. They really open themselves up to a lengthy back and forth if the repair is not perfect.
The boat I'm in now is that I paid over 85k for this...
I picked up my Raptor back around Christmas and immediately noticed an odd blemish on the front of the hood. I pointed it out to the dealership who agreed it looked like a factory defect. It's basically a dent in the lip of the hood with no paint breaks or signs of impact damage. It was very...
Eh maybe not after looking closer. Agree they're ugly, the logo doesn't help.
But more importantly the gap here looks even wider than it is on the stock flaps where I think my latest rock slipped through.
May just have the ding fixed and PPF the lower half the doors and see what happens...
Digging the rocks out was my go to move for the first 500 miles or so. My neighborhood has a really stupid gravel patch that is short yet unavoidable when leaving the neighborhood, and there's almost always a car behind me. It got too tedious to stop every time to dig out tires, let alone at 7am...
Again- I don't disagree but by this logic why paint the car at all? If the intention was for the area behind the tires to look like someone hit it with a mace after 5k miles of just highway driving, why bother?
It's possible the regular Broncos don't throw rocks as aggressively. I'm not...
Definitely wish I had done the PPF over ceramic after the reviews on this post. Live and learn! I might have it buffed off and add the PPM but currently at the point where I'm not sure how much I feel like continuing to invest in it versus just letting it take its licks.
Definitely agree with...
