For what it is worth I am a Mechanical Engineer and have been beating the piss out of trail rigs for decades....trust me that the latter is more important.
This will be my first "nice" trail rig for more relaxed overlanding and exploring. I have no doubts that the 10R60 likely has 20-30%...
Don't forget the 4.7 gear ratios....literally the only reason I am Squatching my BL. Planning 37's and eventually all the suspension will be replaced with mid or long arm. Not having to mess with the gears makes Squatch worth the $2500 to me.
Hey Ryan, fellow San Diegan here!
Can you jump under one of those Broncos and help us settle the 10R80 vs 10R60 debate? Seems there is some confusion on which 10 speed we are getting.
While I agree the 2.3L will be fine for most I wouldn't call 30 hp & 90 lb-ft "little"....especially through 4.7 gears. We haven't seen the curves yet but if I were a betting man, I'd bet the 2.7 hp & torque come in at lower RPMs as well....time will tell.
Thanks for the info! I really like that bumper, hopefully a similar one for the Bronco looks as sharp.
Exactly the tucked winch style I am going for. Likely will need a front mount intercooler and drop down to 2 LP6's (or maybe LP9's) instead of the 5 shown. With the 4 pods below it should...
You can have everything in this case. I for one will be waiting for (or building) a bumper that allows a more tucked winch option (requires intercooler relocation as stated) than factory while also having sensor mounting locations. This along with not having the brush guard or lights mounted...
I'd call them to be sure. I assume this is completely up to the dealer and how on top of it they are. Many will probably just order and install without asking.
