As someone who has owned and driven both a Bronco Sport and my current vehicle a 4 door base full size… I can confidently say that the full size Bronco, even as bare bones as you can get it, is not only more fun to drive but also more capable in snowy conditions.
While the BS is a great little...
I think we would like to think this, and it may be true, however (to play devils advocate) they were saying the same thing about waterpumps on the Bronco Sports. Turns out it was not only a huge percentage of them with a waterpump failure but what they were claiming was the cause turned out to...
From what I hear the pumps are still failing at about the same rate. Originally they thought it was from a contamination that occurred during production but that seems to not be the cause as even the new ones are failing left and right. My Bronco Sport had it repaired under warranty and...
There are definitely some real issues Ford is having with the Bronco and Bronco Sport. The cracking hard tops are crazy to me because how can they literally not figure out why they are cracking and fix it? It’s been almost years now and the same issue is happening at seemingly the same rate...
I cannot confirm or deny that most people have under inflated tires... HOWEVER it is shocking the amount of people who don't even know that you can put air into your tires. I once had a co-worker who didn't know you could put air in your tires at all... When I was explaining this to him he was...
Either F-150 OR Chevy Colorado Trail Boss. Was heavily considering the Colorado when I bought my Bronco but ultimately couldn’t resist the deal I got for my Bronco!
I went through very similar issues when I had my Bronco Sport. Loved that little 3-banger so much but had to get the water pump fixed/replaced twice. Lost all trust in the vehicle so I got it fixed the last time (all under warranty) and drove 20ft from service pick up station to the lot and...
You may be experiencing something different then. However I thought the same thing until I realized I can hear the noise from outside the car simply by unlocking the car and listening. Others did a deeper dive and found the turbo wastegate actuator to be the cause.
I see that now my apologies 🤦🏻 and I was annoyed at first too but since it’s benign I forgot about it and really don’t even notice it anymore. Definitely spiraled me at first though.
I am not smart enough to know why the break would trigger it… Maybe the trucks knows to cycle it again upon the break press??🤷🏻‍♂️ and I’m not sure about it disappearing either. Seems like it might just be an annoying quirk that is there all the time but who knows!
There are a couple threads on here and the Ranger forum. The noise is the Wastegate actuator on the turbo cycling itself. This is why you can hear it simply by unlocking/waking up your truck. Other than annoying, it is benign and should go away once the engine is warm.
There was a video of a guy...
I thought the same thing until I listened to it with the hood open and the sound is exactly the same. And you can even watch the part in the turbo move and coincide with the noise being made.
This noise is 100% the turbo wastegate actuator as mentioned above and is a normal noise for these engines apparently. If you stand by your truck and unlock it you will hear it before even turning your engine on.
The noise is essentially the actuator cycling itself through to make sure it can...
I saw someone who mentioned that they may not want to de-value the from factory option. Best way to do that is to make this one slightly less functional with less switches. This is what makes the most sense to me.
Do all Bronco's without tow package come with this pigtail? I have a 25 Base and was wanting to add a hitch. If there is already an existing pigtail I will go with the Ford kit above.
Update: After driving home from work it seems my earlier fix was not 100% effective HOWEVER I do feel that the noise is now quieter. (Or I’m just making myself believe that)
Next I want to try to lubricate the rubber seals all around, maybe look at the tension cable, and if all else fails… Give...
Update: After picking up my truck from the dealership for a totally different (and still unresolved) issue… I went around and checked all the seals along the soft top.
I found one seal in particular that had a slight crimp/fold in it so I moved it around and straightened it out and laid it...
