Dang! And I thought Boston was expensive…. That is significantly more than my cost and I had a ton of disassembly (brake lights, door handles, grill, Raptor hood thing, spare tire, emblems, etc), had some inside the door jams (though this isn’t crazy, just wanted a bit extra where folks snack...
Have you seen one in person and spent anything more than 3 minutes around it?That’s all it took for me to understand it’s just right and looks so good - even without the flares painted. Burley with a capital B! Not just ready to take over the world, ready to run it over!
The defaulting is all about emissions and exhaust noise. Manufacturers have very different rules when a vehicle can stay in a setting. Look at the Hyundai issue with their stock exhaust getting ticketed in CA.
This! These folks get blown up by internet. “Leads” and man a personal visit to discuss your goals and what you’re looking for will likely make sure you’re more aligned and they know you’re not just another internet searcher wasting their time.
XPel is never cheap. Especially when you take into account disassembly costs to get as seamless as possible. Add in paint correction and whatever touch ups your Ford paint needed (mine had two areas that needed attention), and the cost in major markets is no joke.
That said, my mostly stored...
Code orange in the garage right now. What that? We’re out of milk? I’m on it! I’ll be going to that special grocery store that’s 20 curvy miles away…
This thing is way better than it has any right to be.
I thought about it, but was worried it would look like a Creamsickle in the wrong light. Went with Xpel Ultimate Plus 10 instead. That does look pretty great though. The stripe over the hood is excellent!
You just have to see it. As my wife said “Wow! I can’t believe the Bronco outbullies the Jeep!” And this was our 392 XR she was talking about. No slouch of a Jeep!
Seeing it in person is just a whole different experience.
Here is the factory mount location. I used zip ties as the stock expectation is that you drill into the body panel below the grill (there are two dimples there). No thanks. No comment on whether the plate is still mounted or not ...
I used to carry a small Rubbermaid step in the back of my 392XR for shorter folks who could just not get their legs up there. Everyone loves the step on the Raptor. Though the front seat handle takes some getting used to…
He’s so right. It’s a freakin unbelievably dumb, and great truck all at the same time. It has zero right to be this much fun on normal curvy roads. It’s truly a revelation. I cannot drive it enough.
So yes, I do love the suspension on our Raptor, but I gotta say, the 5 mile test drive was no where near as good as it could have been. I had a theory that the tires were a bit high and confirmed it once I figured out the TPMS screen (so many screens on this thing!).
Ours were set to 44psi...
If I needed $25K, definitely. In a heartbeat as this is just a thing. Thankfully that's not our situation and this toy isn't going anywhere. :)
Where these $130K and $150K specimens at least loaded?
