Fair point. I don't think I've paid that much yet for both & I've been using OEM.
I mean I get that a shop has to make a profit, but I think this particular dealer is pretty lousy.
at 32k miles, I'd have definitely changed the air filters at least a couple times.
I'd be ready for T-case & diff fluids as well.
alignment - would be based purely on if you feel anything pulling or have uneven tire wear.
But wow. Those prices are insane. Like there's expensive, then there's...
I'm sure they're not. But once you remove a restriction, it's removed.
I don't trust any politician not to line their own pockets by trying to sell the land.
I don't hate it? I like the accent color, if you're a beach babe I think it's a cool looing rig.
I agree that anything with rubber band tires & anything with bigger than 18" wheels is gonna look worse.
And yikes that one with the angry grill/windshield guard thing....
I'm rocking 4 pairs of Diode Dynamic SS3 Sports. SAE Fogs replaced my factory fogs when I went to an aftermarket bumper, dual ditch set up with the more forward facing ones amber backlit & a set of reverse lights with red backlight.
I'd recommend them to anyone - they're a very solid option...
I don't know the socket sizes off the top of my head, but you'd definitely need the size of socket for the axle nut & everying related to popping a tie rod end so you can get it out. Having a deadblow &/or a puller set wouldn't hurt either, maybe a couple small pry bars.
I'm probably going to...
well.....we did a 6k+ mile road trip in February through Sedona, Glamis Dunes, Johnson Valley/KOH, Sand Hollow, Moab, Colorado & back to PA.... that was pretty epic.
Also we've been running 24hrs of Appalachia endurance rallies in West Virginia & Ohio.
Gearing up for a 1000 mile, Baja style...
You would never see road rage like I'd have if that happened to me. I'd 1000% chase them down & get a plate. I want to play bumper cars when a cigarette butt lands on my hood or windshield, but in the vehicle? Oh boy.
idk about ultimate test, but it's fun to see what you can do before needing the assistance.
I know I've had a blast last year when I tried a hill climb without, didn't make it & some SXS guys started laughing, then I just clicked the rear on & walked right up from where I was "stuck" at.
My philsophy on lockers depends on what I'm doing that day.
If I'm just having a fun trail day, I like to try obstacles without them, because they're kind of a cheat code.
But during the 24hrs of Appalachia rally events I've been running in, I'm very quick to use the rear on almost anything...
@popo_patty any longer term updates on the FP axles? My passenger OE M210 axle is possibly needing replaced at 69k miles, so I was looking at just swapping both sides with this kit. I use my Bronco pretty roughly - running timed rally events in east coast woods & mud.... Don't really have the...
hm. I thought the ACC radar had something to do with collision, because I swear when I had my bumper full of mud it gave me "collision assist not available warnings" or something like that.
I didn't think the camera had any way to tell distance/closing speed.
Do you need to calibrate anything after moving the ACC module? I've got a relocation kit sitting in my shed waiting for me to install to move. Does the pre-collision warning work off the ACC or the camera behind the mirror?
I did one of the Off-Rodeo outposts last year, because I purchased used & wasn't able to go to the regular Off-Rodeo. This sounds a lot like that event, just at the regular location.
The one we did was billed as "advanced recovery" as well, but honestly, there really wasn't much new info. I...
I definitely used to be more guilty of this. As I've gotten older, I take an extra second to read before hitting send & honestly end up deleting 90% of my snarky replies.
I will agree though that if there's a thread that already answers your question & you start a new thread, you should be...
I'm running Falken Wildpeak AT4Ws & they've been great. As long as you stay out of crazy deep sticky clay mud, they're strong. Had them in the desert, sand dunes, Moab, snowed over mountain passes & done like 8k highway miles. Quieter than OEM, 60k mile warranty.
I'm running dual Diode Dynamics SS3 Sports.
With harnesses, DV8 brackets & the lights, I think I'm around $500-$550 on my setup.
I've got amber backlight in the forward facing pair & no backlight on the more side mounted pair. Also have Amber plastic covers for dusty trails/KOH desert running...
it can be fixed 100%. when I changed my steering rack myself, I got my alignment about 99% perfect, but my wheel was a touch off.
When I had it professionally done (5 miles after I put the rack in), I told him & he checked/adjusted it to sit dead center.
It's honestly not hard, just a PITA...
