thanks guys, the whole group has me laughing at the comments. If anyone decides to do a similar setup I’ll try to get an actual parts list and some more pics/vids
Haha, funny thing is we almost listed our house for sale last week but the one we had an accepted offer in on had too many things show up during the inspection.
I don’t have an exact parts list because I had some of the supplies already but here’s what I recall using (I built it about 6 months ago).
National Hardware pulleys (8)
Harbor Freight Hoist (I think I bought the 880lb one but it’s overkill).
1/8 cable and clips
Hooks (4)
Pvc pipe and...
It’s a little overdone but it works perfectly and I figured the super quick top removal or install was worth it. I also like how everything gets sucked up into the pvc tubes and is out of sight when the top is on the bronco.
thanks, yeah I didn’t care for the way the first attempt came out. (You can see the center hole in the drywall) I originally had the hoist mounted above the bronco, centered in the attic, and dropped one cable down. It made rigging the hardtop very tricky, and if you didn’t have it just right...
My 2 door bronco was just built, and I’m expecting delivery in the next two weeks. I prefer the Sandstone interior vs the dark space gray/black onyx that I got. If anyone got a Big Bend and prefers the darker interior maybe we can swap (I’m in Romeo, MI).
Thanks. I just saw ford put out a work around for the 2.7 issue (you have to pull two fuses). How will this effect the brake system I have? Also, I was considering using forscan to change the 12v time out issue on the outlet in the console.
I gathered up all of the stuff that I thought I needed to flat tow my 2.7 Bronco and now I’m not sure if the brake system I bought will work. In the manual for the Brake Buddy Digital Classic it says to call the manufacturer if you are flat towing an electronically boosted vehicle, so I called...
makes sense, I guess we’ll see. This is actually my son’s order (I had a first day reservation and got mine back in October). I have the 2.7 but he was trying to keep his build as budget friendly as possible.
I only see four body codes (two for the 2 door, and two for the 4 door). Is there more? I’m not changing transfer cases so shouldn’t I have the same body code (mine is a base 2 door Sasquatch so its E5C). Maybe I’m missing something?
Hey guys, I asked my dealer to change my engine choice (from 2.3 to 2.7) and I was told that this change would drop me to the back of the line. Seems like bs to me but thought I’d see if anyone in the know could verify. Thanks
