Not sure what you mean? It hangs on the hanger the same way as the vehicle, but with extra protection. It doesn't come near the brackets on the wall. And the mounting pads keep it from swinging into the wall.

It sounds like you might have the old style interior lights. We have since moved to an interface with the rear dome light, tying in to the Ford linbus system. We sell the adapter separately if your are interested in simplifying the install. Available on Amazon as well if you prefer.

I would suspect they will be hard to get for a bit. The last I looked, they were on backorder and over $1k per side. That tends to happen with the newer build parts until the supply catches up.
