Highly recommend the Ford performance procal. My 2.7 had similar issues, but the procal smoothed out the transmission and made the overall driving experience alot better in all driving modes.
You'll need to download forscan on your laptop, and buy a cable to connect it to the OBD2 port underneath the steering wheel. Then edit the car how you see fit using threads on this forum and YouTube videos.
