I'll be able to tell if 29 loses power next week. I was thinking of connecting a clock or something to it that would lose memory if it went dead, but I'll just ride with it and see how it works. We're towing over 4 hours on Tuesday.
I ordered their big bundle with the RVi 3 brake. Seems like a...
I see what you are saying. I was reacting to the statement "fuses have a specific direction" that gave me the impression that a fuse itself acted as a diode which, of course they don't.
I'm also a noob at using these taps. I've usually just ran separate switched or relayed circuits in...
That's good news for Roadmaster folks, then. I sold my Falcon 2 and picked up a Blue Ox that had a higher weight rating. That's something to consider for anyone that doesn't yet have a tow bar. Roadmaster ends don't require modification.
On another thread that discusses all about flat towing (worth the time it takes to read all 25+ pages), someone recommended #29. I tested it and it was hot while the Bronco was off, but I didn't time it to see if it was on a delay. I doubt it is because that post was from weeks ago. I'm...
For a minute I thought that you were saying that fuses acted like diode's. I then realize that you are talking about which fuse you use in a tap. Yes, one fuse in the tap fuses both circuits, while the second is for the added circuit. I would test for the primary by seeing which has power before...
I'll brain dump my experience. This info is worth every penny you'll pay. I have a 2001 motorhome on a #20500 GVW F53 chassis. Flat towing a mid size SUV is easy on this and a P30 (Chevy/Workhorse) chassis.
If you buy used and do the work yourself, you'll pay around $1500 - $2000 to set it up...
Yeah but the Bronco recovery points are 1 1/8" width, so if theirs are 1" (like a lot of others) they will need to be widened. They may still be the right choice because they are less expensive than the Blue Ox ones. Even the Towmaster ones are less expensive. In a few months someone will come...
I saw a post a month or two ago about it (presumably yours) and emailed LOD with the dimensions on the Bronco's recovery point. They said theirs would only work on their own bumpers so I didn't pursue it. I could have easily gotten something wrong or gotten the wrong person so I'm not doubting...
I agree this isn't just a 2022 problem and that Curt is still claiming to be unaware of the scope of the issue.
We have a 2021 Outer Banks and installed the Curt 58992 in February. I didn't finish wiring it up because I was waiting on my RVi system to come in and wanted to finish the wiring...
True, the braking system will apply the brake pedal which should apply the brakes. The problem is that is one of the 2 things the light connection is for. All 4 pin light connections, which is what is provided, put the brake signal and turn signal on the red brake light. It is an industry...
I'm in the same boat as you. I've installed the Curt harness and ran it to behind the battery right now. I have an RVi charger and wireless brake controller on order and I'm waiting for those to finish the wiring. If these don't activate the brake lights, as anyone with 1/2 a brain would expect...
