It's on all GTDI engines these days. For emissions / fuel economy the injection pressure is extremely high - not diesel high - but high. To limit losses the high pressure fuel pump (HPFP) is mounted as close to the fuel rails as possible. A low pressure pump sits in the tank and just feeds the HPFP.
Awesome! Gotta be in DC for a wedding so planning on running this route and camping at the top in early October.
Plan is Vepco Road - Union Springs - Flagpole Knob - Reddish Knob
Well a simple feature that could need to recalibrated is idle engine speed control calibration. Because it’s an electrical power steering it puts an accessory load on the engine.
That interacts with fuel / spark which effect emissions and fuel economy.
And that’s the first one off the top of...
Because I’m trying to educate you on how a calibration release works. So what “baseline specs” would you like Ford to release?
There’s not just a single drop in EPAS calibration. The EPAS calibration is among ~50 other features packaged into one file, that gets flashed onto one module.
You...
1) it’s not known knowledge. Ford hasn’t released a calibration/strategy for a 1.0 built vehicle subbed for 3.0 - because they haven’t tested or certified it
2) Ford isn’t advising to replace 1.0 for 3.0 - if I went in to replace my steering rack the service manual would call for a specific 1.0...
GTFO of here with that.”Rightfully” here isn’t referring to personal rights or corporate rights - it’s saying properly in reference to Ford Motor Company, the manufacturer’s, ability to properly manufacture a vehicle.
Calibration = levers you get to pull to change how the car drives
Strategy =...
Yup - Ford creates an “as produced” calibration for all the modules. The dealership, rightfully, does not have the tools to just drop in whatever calibration or section of calibration they want.
I’m an engineer in automotive - I’m well aware how far away we are from level 5 autonomous vehicles; just saying it would be a nice feature to have.
One of my favorite trails to hike here in NC is the Art Loeb. A 30 mile one-way hike. Typically this means you have to dedicate an extra 1.5hrs at the beginning and the end of the hike to have a car at the start and finish. It would be nice to hop on the trail, and have the car meet you at the...
Had the same issue, dealer replaced it under warranty. If you have the sound deadening headliner make sure they order that as well. It’s a different part number.
I have this issue as well - can recreate it consistently ~4/10 times on the same turn near my house, unfortunately that turn isn't anywhere near the dealer.
While in 2 High only the rear two wheels are powered, HOWEVER all 4 axles and both differentials are spinning while driving down the road. The disconnect is at the transfer case.
So you'd need to remove the front axle shafts in this scenario to avoid damage.
That is until some releases some...
Yea it was the first use of my rope and shackles - but I'm not sure who was doing the pulling. It looked like when you came off the rock that had you stuck, your driver wheel got driven into a different rock
Badlands 7MT w/ 33s just used the gas tank skid and gently tagged one of the LCA mounts. Nothing a little rustoleum won't fix.
Also what a handsome gentleman setting up that kinetic rope...
