On a related note...I was thinking about the 2.7 with both direct and port injection vs the 2.3 with just direct. Understand the carbon issue on the 2.3 but seems like the 2.7 adds twice the number of injectors, additional lower pressure pump, more hoses, lines, connector etc...more...

That's what it's looking like to me. Have reservation for Base and was hoping to only add 33s on 17s and a rear locker from the factory. Don't really need anything more than that and I'll build the rest myself...bumper with winch etc but looks like I might up it to BB plus rear locker. Still...

Conflicting and apparently illogical configurations will drive you nuts.... Automatic standard on 4 door Base but not on BB? Heated seats standard or optional in BB? Rear locker standalone option on BB or only part of Sasquatch package? I have reservation for Base but may well bump it up to BB...

That's what I'll do. My point is that its too bad Ford won't gives us factory options. I'll end up gladly giving my money to TireRack instead. Same goes for rear locker, etc

I get it and I give up...so the way it looks now if I want anything other than 30" tires on 16" steel rims on Base for example I'll either have to buy an automatic and Sasquatch package or go aftermarket. Would think Ford might like to sell me 32s or 33s on 17s from the factory but guess not...

Not every option. No desire or expectation for leather seats, leather wrapped steering wheels 12" screens, B&O sounds system. Just desire for basic mechanical/drivetrain options expected on a reasonable offroad vehicle without fluff.

Those types of options are available on the Ranger in less bloated, more reasonably priced packages so that rationale doesn't really hold up. Seems to be more about getting early adopters to pay to play. Said to say but I'll be one of them

Did they explicitly say rear lockers on every trim level? I only saw a statement saying "most" leading me to strongly suspect it won't be offered on the Base trim level which is what I am aiming for....Base, 2.3L, MT, rear lockers, 33s on 17s and I'll take it from there.. Totally agree with...

I hope you're right. Would really suck to be expected to spend 4k to go up to a Big Bend getting stuff I don't want just for the privilege of being able to order rear lockers or up 7k to a Black Diamond to get them. Can't imagine Base with auto even if with a 2.3 and Sasquatch would be less...

I think I might go that route too. Won't be my daily drive. Only thing I really want to add from the factory would be rear lockers
