Neither had I until my dealer told me. It’s unfortunate because I was notified that I was scheduled on 9/30 after being told I’d be a MY22 and had been planning to switch colors.
If anyone has any insight into any ways to change color post-balance out date, I’d be very interested to hear.
Did your change go through after 9/30? I ask because I tried to have the color changed on my 12/6 build date Bronco on 10/6, but my dealer told me it wouldn’t go through because 9/30 was the “balance out” date for MY21.
Thanks for the info! Regardless of whether I get a 22 or not, I’ll be sure to get my 21 at the agreed MSRP from the dealer. Unfortunately I am going to be living in Manhattan, so parking will be pretty scarce. I’m thinking I’ll give my folks the option to either keep the 21 for a year or to sell...
And here I am hoping for exactly that. I always wanted CO, but it wasn't available on Base MY21. Timeline for me was: Email that I'll be pushed to MY22 -> Announcement that CO is on Base for MY22 -> Excitement -> Surprise VIN and build week of 12/6.
Having the same issue for my supposedly 12/6 build date MY21. Suspecting the push to MY22, but no official word yet.
Edit - Here is what I get when I try to use Ford's tracker with my Order# and VIN. Used to take me to a page with my build info. Triple checked that the numbers were correct.
When I go to Ford's tracker and enter the VIN and Order Number for my build, it's now returning "We're sorry. We are unable to process this Order. Please enter a valid Ford Order/VIN". It used to bring me to the page with the render for my personal build.
When I click on the "My Reservations...
I had a 2-door base reservation on 7/25/20 that got pulled to be built the week of 12/6 (last week of '21). I recently took a 1-year gig in NYC (at $600/mo for parking, Bronco is not invited), so my Bronco will be at my parents place until October 2022 when I move back to the countryside. They...
I think that if you actually had a signed contract for sale price that the dealership refused to honor, you could sue them for breach of contract and recover $95k - MSRP.
I suspect the signed agreement didn't include a sales price term. Maybe it just quoted what MSRP was, but that doesn't mean...
Having a MY21 built in December is bad enough, but imagine getting a MY21 that was built in 2022 lol
Actually I suspect there would be a legal problem with that, selling a MY21 that was manufactured in 22. My guess would be that if unforeseen circumstances cause Ford to be unable to finish a 21...
Others on this forum have been able to change their color after the VIN has been assigned, but before the window sticker is issued. Supposedly color can be changed, but nothing else about the build can.
I think it's worth it, CG is great, but the limited run of AMB makes it feel special. That's a big part of why I'm going to try to switch mine to Rapid Red tomorrow.
Like I said in OP, it was mainly just disappointment at not getting the color I wanted. Not the end of the world, of course, but it would have been easily avoided if Ford hadn't told me I'd be pushed to MY22, then 6 weeks later scheduled me for MY21 with no communication in between.
Other users have reported that their dealer was able to change the color of their order after being assigned a VIN. Apparently color is the only thing you can change.
I’m going to be speaking to my dealer tomorrow to try and change from Ox white to Rapid Red tomorrow. It’s worth asking your...
Yeah, I'm honestly fine with it being MY21 since I don't plan on selling any time soon, it's more just a bummer that I won't get the color I was so excited for. I'm feeling the pain of my AMB and RR brothers, but in reverse since I want to be MY22 lol.
I was pretty surprised to get my hard top 2-door scheduled for the last week of MY21 after being told a month and a half ago that I would be MY22, especially given that I'm a 7/25 reservation.
I was always not thrilled with the color selection for 21 Base model, so after they announced new...
I wish Ford had told me this. Last communication was pretty explicit in telling me that my order would be 22. In retrospect, I should have 99'd. But I feel a little blindsided being told I'd be MY22 then getting assigned a VIN for the last week of MY21.
Mine is a 21MY the week of December 6th. More that a little bummed since I had my heart set on getting Cyber Orange on the base after they announced builds like mine (hard top) would be pushed to 22MY. I 100% would have told my dealer to 99 my order if I thought there was any chance of getting...
Incredibly surprised to get a 12/6 build date on my 7/25 res for a 2 door basesquatch.
Honestly kind of disappointed too. I was really looking forward to switching to the new color options for base in 22 (Cyber orange), and had already been told by Ford that orders like mine wouldn't be...
