About a year after owning my Bronco I rented a pickup for a cross county trip. When I went to pick it up they offered me a new Gladiator Willys for no extra charge (normally Jeeps are a significant upgrade). Being a Bronco owner I jumped at the chance to drive a Jeep. 10 minutes on the freeway...
Do YJ's have real sealed beam headlights? Round or square sealed beams are a million times better than the plastic crap we have now. The plastic crap fogs over invariably gets moisture inside the lens. I had a 85 Merc Cougar with four sealed beams and old school 3-speed automatic transmission...
I have a $300 Lenovo running the Pentium III with 16G of Ram. I did upgrade the spinner to a 2TB SSD which added another $100, but its a great laptop no issues. I run it as my "main" PC with an external 27" monitor and keyboard.
Thanks for this information! My Bronco is out of the 3-year warrantee. What do you think about an FDRS subscription? Would it allow me to determine what software updates are available for my Bronco and install them?
I admit I'm old but it has always been called the accelerator (or gas), brake and clutch pedal even when I was in College. Some of us don't have to come up with slang terms to be cool.
Going to the dealer for oil filters must cost a fortune. I've been using Walmart brand or Fram for decades and run hundreds of thousands of miles. One time I went to the dealer to get a cabin air filter. They wanted $55.00 (for the part not installed) and that was 15 years ago. I said no...
I don't like these so called cartridge filters, the spin on type is superior in my opinion. You pay more for just the filter media than the entire canister. We can thank the Europeans for this! Crazy what they come up with to save the planet.
There are videos out there on a major transmission update for the 2026 model year. The videos discuss significant hardware and software changes, but some are calling it AI nonsense. Some are saying its only minor software tweeks. I havent had any luck finding "official" information from Ford...
Recalls has nothing to do with longevity. There is only one recall on my 22 I care about, the fuel pump. The rest are nonsense. I would take 100 of these BS recalls compared to a major engine recall like you know who. Yeah I know the 2.7L had the value issue which isn't good, but that's the...
With all the fussing about the hard plastic interior I prefer it over soft touch. I rented an almost new Pathfinder and there was already a tear on the console near the shift lever with white fuzz coming out. Its basically a very thin vinyl cover over padding.
Gotta be honest I'm going with stock. Stock wheels almost always look better than aftermarket. You can always tell when a vehicle doesn't have stock wheels.
Back in the day when Broncos were hard to get I'm sure folks didn't think anything of driving 1000-2000 miles. Grainger was a hot spot. I'm only 150 miles from there and was a October special order holder. I had to bail over the allocation fiasco, ended up driving 50 miles.
