The data collected on Bronco6g is a little skewed toward enthusiasts. Ford will probably make more OBXs than Badlands. While both models allow you to select the higher levels of creature comfort (Lux and leather seats), the OBX has more choices in the leather colors. The sway bar disconnect on...
The big problem is that Ford changed the game on reservation holders after 2021. The big dealers cried about a handful of dealers (Granger, Stephens) who had the audacity to attract out of market customers with competitive pricing.
It hasn't helped that Ford has a few suppliers who can't keep...
Honestly, I question whether any priority code other than a '99' (don't schedule) means anything to the scheduling department at Ford. Perhaps someone who works at a dealership can comment.
I hate the dealer allocation system, but it is what it is. Most of us have held on to our original dealer because of the $. I looked up the MSRP on my build if placed today---almost $5000 more than mine. That's before my carry over private offer. So, almost $8,000 more for a new order. It's...
I posted this in the scheduling thread. I was one of the early ones this week. WT, Lux, MIC. 6/15/21 reservation. Orders carried over from 2021 and 2022.
I hung tight on my constrained build because I was my dealer's only WT order left.
My build week is now 5/8/2023.
The factory speakers are pretty bad. I figure that there is no harm swapping in better speakers and then seeing whether the amp upgrade makes sense. Many people are swapping the front speakers and the adding an amped aftermarket sub.
I bought an extra Hertz DCX 100 from a B6g member. I just got a build date, so I probably won't get to try the speaker swap until June. Some people complain that replacing the center with a coax puts to much bias to the highs---the stock is more of a midrange. I think it depends on what you do...
It all depends on your model and options and your dealer’s allocations. I wouldn’t order from a dealer unless they were willing to talk openly about their allocation position and whether they expected the order to be built quickly.
It’s all about dealer allocations. I kept my order as is because I was the only Wildtrak order left at my dealer.
Another thing: the SAS, MIC and Lux constraints at the beginning of the year were a little overblown. Ford didn’t clear the Non-COVP orders out of those stats.
I’ve posted about...
