Buckle up, the “fix” so far has not actually fixed it for most. Now one poster did say yesterday they heard part numbers were being changed which if true should hopefully lead to a true fix. Have not seen any confirmation of it in that thread so as of now it is just a “my dealer said” statement.

I haven’t used it on a hill as most the hills around my regular drive area are pretty tame. Just sometimes I don’t disengage it and drive right through it when I’m parked.
I haven’t done it for a while but previous vehicles with rain-x rarely even needed the use of windshield wipers. Water beaded up and streamed away on its own.
