I have two Broncos. My Basesquatch needs a new transmission at 157 miles. Not so satisfied there, but it’s the luck of the draw I suppose. Otherwise the Bronco is a lot of fun and very capable.
I do wonder about the correlation between waiting so long and owning a still relatively hard to buy...
Yesterday I learned my Basesquatch has multiple codes, however only P0756 is persistent after the others are cleared. Apparently the indication is the auto transmission is stuck in third gear and the clutch is not engaging. Ford asked them to do an accelerated valve body break in, however the...
Another day... another tow. Picked up from the dealership on Saturday, who said everything checked out. No issues. Possible sticking torque converter solenoid from being new. Told me to take it on a road trip to run it in. (Advice I'm glad I did not listen to.)
We did have an enjoyable drive in...
I've long thought of what you describe as the wolf phenomenon. If sitting around the prehistoric campfire thousands of years ago, a wolf rushed in from the woods and dragged your child off for dinner, you would naturally be terrified of wolves.
Now if a wolf somewhere in the world does the...
You definitely win for losing! Thank you for the tip about the extended warranty. I do admit my confidence is a bit shaken, but I realize it's a complex machine built in an environment allowing for higher failure tolerance. Overall the Basesquatch is amazing. I just want to make sure this issue...
Thanks for the input. I heard back from the service manager late this afternoon. I did appreciate the dealership taking a look as quickly as they could. From what I was told, the Bronco did not have any issues starting or running and passed diagnostics and drive tests. When scanned, no fault...
UPDATE 03/31: Dealer was planning to replace the valve body and a solenoid, but then found metal debris. Now waiting for a new transmission to arrive for replacement. So far 21 days without use of the vehicle.
UPDATE 03/14: Vehicle is showing fault code P0756, which apparently means stuck in...
Absolutely agree with this. Well written. I’ve bought lots of stuff for the emotional/fantasy value. Sometimes that’s ok. It’s worth it to me to have a motorcycle or two in the garage even if I don’t have time to ride as much as I would like. I can dream of riding through South America when in...
Glad to hear you are loving the Squatch even without fully wheeling. This would be more my use for most of the time. Eventually would like to do a couple dedicated off-road trips. My brother and cousin are into off-road so I would have a fun group to join.
Thanks for the feedback. I knew the brain trust on Bronco6G would have some excellent input. As it stands right now, I think the Squatch is the plan based on the following points articulated in the responses:
- Factory gearing and lockers under warranty. I won't ever be in a position to wish I...
Dumb question of the day, but let's imagine I have a 2022 4-door base hardtop I could trade for a new 2023 basesquatch for an added $8k. Builds are completely the same except year, color (A51 to Cactus Gray) and the Squatch package.
Would $8k be better spent on building out the non-Squatch or...
I was able to pick up my A51 base on Monday. Took just under three weeks to deliver to Utah.
So far it’s exactly what I wanted, which is a solid old-fashioned 4x4 with just the basics. I’m looking forward to switching out tires and painting the wheels as soon as feasible. I also have a Squatch...
My Bronco is on a train between Omaha and North Platte. Expected arrival at the Salt Lake City transfer yard early morning Dec. 10. Then who knows how long to get on a truck to the dealer.
This morning I received the shipped email for my base 4 dr with blend date of 11/09. Coming by rail to Utah with an ETA of Dec. 24-30. Might just barely make it before 2023, unless the rail strike interferes.
I confirmed with Ford chat my base build is on chip hold at the plant. ETA is now 12/15 or later.
I’m curious if when chips arrive if priority will be given to assembly line new builds, such as 2023s. Not sure if accounting reasons or otherwise incentivize new builds moving off the line.
I could be wrong, but I’m not convinced there is broad chip hold on the 11/07 builds. I’m not saying some aren’t on a chip hold, but I don’t think it is wide spread. I think we will see more built emails.
Of course this is Ford, so delivery in March 2023 or later is a definite possibility!
Dealer in Utah called me for the first time this afternoon asking if I still wanted my Bronco since it’s taken awhile. Dumb question of course.
He said he is expecting I will be able to pick it up in early December. He’s going to update me again next week.
My build is showing up on the FordPass app ready for FordConnect activation. Seems promising! Still showing in production on the tracker.
I don’t think clicking activate will do anything at this point however. I’m not ready for Ford chat to crush my dreams yet.
