I put my Kicker key 4-ch amp under the steering column on the metal plate and my subwoofer amp attached to the bottom of the rear seat. No problems folding down the seat.

I don’t have a lot of experience with nylon lock nuts. Did you have to use a lot of force to get them on to the larger bolt? I was worried that I might strip them and backed them out. They were much easier to install on the smaller bolts. Maybe I’m just weak? 😃

I have the 4” focals in the rear. I don’t hear anything from them sitting in the driver’s seat so it’s essentially for backseat passengers. I have my fader balanced between front and rear.

So far I’m in about $700, but I’m also planning to add a subwoofer sometime in the future. I purchased all of my equipment from crutchfield except for the plug and play harness.

I suppose for other speakers that could be true but not these. My front passenger grill protrudes just a little because one of the clips got loose when I removed the speaker a second time to add the bass blockers.

I’ve read mixed reviews about using the boom mats so I wasn’t sure if it is the way to go. I might just try it anyway because prior to adding the amp, the speakers sounded a little hollow. Thanks for your input!
