I’d imagine this is heavier but yeah, if you bought a hard top too, you’d be in a similar price range. But my point remains for that setup too;) I do a TON of camping and can’t justify that price to myself. But to each their own, no judgement here. It is SUPER convenient, don’t get me wrong...
I don’t hate it but don’t love it. Great for fairly easy overlanding id imagine. Very convenient…
But the big kicker is price, 10k for a glorified bed and I can’t even stand up in it. That’s insane to me that people would spend 10k on a bed… if you live in your Bronco, sure, awesome purchase...
Unfortunately it rattled itself into 3 parts on this trip:( the threads all stripped out. Need to get another one now. I’ll stick with a one piece this time.
It was freaking awesome! I’m just sad we missed out on the very end going through Big Dune. All is well though, I will be returning.
My favorite part were the amazing views and constant changes of scenery. We literally encountered soooo much terrain and weather changes, it was awesome...
I’d love to have you next year! This was a dry run to iron out the kinks and I brought a very tight knit group as such. Next year there will be some advertising ahead of time.
love the pic! Something I still struggle with is filming while engaging in the trip. I’ve always been a wheeler, this...
Another tool I will start carrying as well is an adapter ring for the Raptor lug pattern to fit with bronco wheels. This will allow us to swap spares if needed. It won’t look pretty but it will work
Yup! I didn’t listen to the podcast so I didn’t know a grinder was recommended haha. I know now and also why! We followed the instructions to a tee on the first tire. On the second, we ignored the instructions and used a crap ton of glue… got a way better seal but the lack of a grinder made...
Tons and tons of off-road miles, 21 Big Bend Sasquatch with the 2.3 and auto. No major issues except the dreaded frame cracks that occur in a handful of the first year Broncos.
haha.
1x Knockoff brand tire on F-150
2x Stock Raptor BFG’s.
My D rated Falkens started the trip with 30k on their belt and two chunks out of sidewalk from rocks on the rubicon. No blowouts. Big fan
On October 18th, after hours of planning, researching and plotting gas and routes. I, along with 4 other Broncos (including Tricky) and an F-150 driver who's Bronco was down, attempted one of America's longest Off-Road Race routes. The Vegas to Reno 500! Only we drove it backwards...
I plotted...
Although I was only able to attend 1 day of Super Cel Nevada it was a blast! I elected to forgo the trail for the day and rode shotgun with Mitch Creel to see how the original Broncos do.
We hit one of the harder routes at Prison Hill which I was told is almost guaranteed to cause body damage...
